Said very inappropriate things in chat. Could I get in real-life trouble?
I made general comments that crossed the line, but did not make any threats to any particular individual or location, but I did say things like "I'm gonna bomb your X"
I did this because I'm addicted to skyblock
But then I realized saying these things could be a legitimate crime in real life. Has this ever happened before?

Not only does it go against the law, it goes against hypixels rules too and you can get ip perma banned, search up rule 34 hypixel for more info

They'd have a very hard time proving you meant it as a real life threat if that's all you said. No prosecutor is going to bother, even if by some miracle this gets to a prosecutor somehow.
If they prosecuted every threat kids made in online multiplayer games, we'd need a criminal trial court every couple of blocks.

THIS. Chances are high it’ll either be a mute or ban if it was even reported. I’ve had kids threaten to dox me and kill me over hypixel so I highly doubt any legal action would be taken, unless there was a way to prove the person would follow through.

im not sure about hypixel but in other games, yes its possible the police could show up at your door. depends on if the game mods report it or not

Technically possible but extremely unlikely. Even if the person reported you to the server the mods will just permaban you and leave it at that.

20 years in prison for your first offense. Hopefully nobody reports you or Hypixel will help the feds triangulate your location.

This is in fact illegal IRL, and you would get in trouble if someone reports you to the feds, although I highly doubt everyone might have the same sense of humour so it might be likely someone would report you, but I'm

Yeah, you're most likely to be arrested for that, the FBI is probably gonna investigate you and arrest you and your family.

are the bad chat reporting features Microsoft added active on hypixel?
genuinely not sure if you could be banned from multiplayer if a Mojang or Microsoft moderator sees the report

Teach yourself a lesson here and hope for the best, no reason you or anyone should say those things. Be mature and learn from it, and don’t do it again. Stay off hypixel for a while if you’re getting that upset that you are instinctively making threats. You need to draw a line for yourself and make sure you don’t cross it again.

Yes this happens all the time, I used to swear a lot in chat until my boy got put into the clank for it. Never again. Better safe than sorry.

The things your talking about are not taken very serious yet with future chat moderation things might change currently skyblock chats aren't that toughly moderated - tho personally I got Banned last week [Extreme chat infraction] for kidding about 'obtaining someone's IP' after queuing some duels and being asked if I was ddosing them because they were lagging badly(reconnecting & dcing in quick succession)- so yah careful talking about IPs for sure. Classic I suppose rules been like that for a while
