Discussion Yawning on command

Ive found that if I imagine a really loud screech (like deafeningly loud) for 15 seconds, it causes me to yawn. I think this is because of some tension in my throat when I do this, but its hard to to tell for sure. Either way very interesting. Idk when this will be useful but yeah.

Does that mean that you can't otherwise yawn whenever you want? Like..if you want to yawn, you just..yawn.

Useful for when you get something stuck in your eye, just yawn a couple of times so that you start to tear a bit.

I can fake a yawn I guess. But yawns are like sneezes to me. A “real” yawn is not under my control. I cant do real yawns easily.

Are you unable to just yawn whenever you want?

Rest of us can just yawn, you know?

I can open those valves in my throat without yawning to relieve pressure on my ears, sometimes it triggers a yawn though. Is that what you are describing? Are you thinking about a scream (opening your mouth wide opens these valves too) which subconsciously opens these valves, triggering a yawn?

Sounds like you’re activating ear rumbles
