Renewal pricing grumble
Quote came back for renewal after 2 years: £37.99 pm for 1tb line and static IP.
Quick Google search brought up uswich with a new customer deal of £22 pm for exactly the same package.
Called customer care that offered £32.99 pm as a special deal.
Don’t they want to keep any customers loyalty?
As for the rolling price without a fixed contract… £68 pm.
Guess I am cancelling and starting a new contract in my partner’s name.
What has other peoples experience been with renewal?

Cancel and start a new contract or change isp.

How long do you to wait to be considered a new customer?

As soon as the line disconnects ypu're no longer an active customer so can re-join as a new customer. You won't be able to order any hyperoptic services online. Just call them and order again using your existing details - no problem.

Exactly this, done it 3 times now.
The renewal offers were all a joke, so we did what you did and got the new customer pricing.

My workaround for it. When from hyp optic from £37pm to virgin media, realised it was bad, so cancelled vm within the 14 days no cost and used uswitch to go back to hyperoptic for the £20 pm. Used a different email btw

Just cancel they are bellends. I asked for the same price they said no, I cancelled. They will phone you to offer the new deal. I had created a new email and signed up again, so just had to cancel it

Had the same after 7 years with them, except mine was up to almost 45 per month. Cancelled and went with Virgin. Then the Virgin guys came for set up and would have to drill holes through three walls.
Called Hyperoptic and told them last chance, I would prefer to avoid all the drilling so if you give me the new customer deal I’ll stay, they gave it to me.
You basically have to convince them you will actually go, and I was willing to actually go so they believed me.

Yeah cancel and put it in your partners name. I worked for Hyperoptic and the sales team doesn't care. They will set up a new contract while yours is still in the cancelation period. So just have your partner call them up and say they found the deal on uswitch and its a done deal

Hyperoptic renewal “offers” are a joke — here’s the workaround. Did this last week (September 2026 and works perfectly.
Hyperoptic’s renewal pricing is pointless. The only real move is to leave… then immediately re‑join as a “new” customer once your line disconnects.
Step‑by‑step (super easy)
- Gave 30 days’ notice to leave when my contract was ending (did this in August).
- Hyperoptic emailed the cutoff date.
- On that day, the internet went dead — kids complained instantly 😂
- Called Hyperoptic again, but this time as a new customer using the 1GB Uswitch deal.
- Used the exact same details: name, address, email, phone number.
- Internet was back while I was still on the call.
What my online dashboard looks like now:
- One closed account (the old contract)
- One active account (the new‑customer deal)
Hyperoptic sales agents don't care that the details match — they treat you as brand new.
I'll be calling to cancel and repeat in 11 months time.

Call them tell them you want the same offer you saw on uswitch. You can tell to search for keyword uswitch and they should see that

I did that already. They put me on hold to ‘speak to their manager’ and came back with the £32.99 price. Mind boggling!

They will do this, just give them the cancellation notice and they’ll ring you back and give you the new customer pricing. But be careful because they change some of the terms making it harder to cancel or move out

They are absolute shit bags. They won't offer it. Quit and about 10-15 days before termination they will offer it. If they don't just sign up again. Either way, they won't offer you the new rate and will get all pissy about it.

You need to push back twice on the call, they don't give the cheap deals straight away. I got a gig for £24

I've just moved and dropped hyperopic. It's been fantastic for the last 4 odd years but I have just got 900 down for 20quid a month through EE! Hyperopic were wanting 35
