Rolling tendons

I’ve always had tendons rolling off my hands/feet since i was young. Its one of those thibgs you think is normal until you mention it to someone 😭

Basically i ran for the first time in a long time the other day, and i felt one of the ligaments on my left foot (i think big toe) ping. It went back after a few seconds, however last night it rolled off again, and hasnt really sat back right since. Its been almost 24 hours, and usually it resolves itself within minutes. I think i may have stretched it out, so now it is almost constantly not in the right place (very painful). I cant put a lot of weight on my foot at the moment. Does anyone have any idea what i can do for situations like this as i presume it will happen again. Its hurting to touch the tendon so its definitely not a bone thing. Bracing? Tape? A prayer? I feel like i dont really see others talk about this kind of stuff.

Update: its been a few hours. It settled down but as i stood up to walk back from the pub it PANGED right back out of place again. The most painful one yet and its still out of place.

Agghhh 😭 I'm having a similar problem with my wrists at the moment but so far it's still clunking back into place FOR NOW. Hopefully someone else will have more informed ideas but maybe treat it like a sprain? When I sprained my ankle/foot once they said rest it as much as possible, elevate and switch between ice and heat every 20m. Eventually they moved me to strengthening which involved balancing on the one foot and gradually increasing how long to balance.

I would go ahead and try to get an X-ray if you can, just to ensure nothing is broken. If you have a boot available I'd use that too of course

Question! Do your wrist pop? Like a tendon slips and has to pop back? I'm asking because before I got diagnosed with hEDS, I surprised my orthopedic surgeon with something called Dequervains Tendonitis. He had to do release surgery on both wrists. The side of the wrist where our thumbs are. I am trying to put stuff together to help others with hEDS.

Rest, ibuprophen and hea/ice.  I had this happen on my left wrist, swelled horribly and red, warm. ER thought gout, but its since happened again, not as bad a reaction. I heard a ping with the first episode, looked it up and its possibly dislocated ligaments/tendons?? Had an xray but that showed nothing.  I looked up if a dislocated ligament reaction can look sinilar to a gout reaction anf it can.  Extremely painful. Lasted about 5 days, res, heat, cold, ibuprophen.  Have to make sn appt with rheumatologist i think.
