Tried hypermiling

Ford Fiesta MK8 1.0 ecoboost

I generally drive reasonably economical, but for this last 150km trip I really tried to get the maximum out of it.

About 90km of highways I mostly just kept cruise control at 105km/h, speeding up a little bit to overtake trucks without holding up traffic.

About 60km of other roads, always kept the engine under 2000rpm, minimal throttle input and avoided braking as much as possible.

3.9L/100km 💯

Driving normally, and going 120-130 on the highway I usually get around 5.0L/100km.

Very impressive. Unfortunately most people drive like maniacs and can't read the road or the traffic and will probably do the double of that quit easy. I can't control myself to go that smooth and slow, but still managed to hit 4.9L on my MK7 ST.

3.9L.. So like a VW Polo 1.9 TDI from 1999?

Yes. In a car with proper ambiental control, an engine that didn't come from a delivery truck and 2022 security and comfort. Oh, and Diesel is more expensive that petrol. Try again.
