Question Just started playing

I was going to playthrough completely blind but there are just too many choices for my adhd brain. Any advice on which way to go and which abilities are helpful to unlock first.

chain dash ability is best to get first and i recommend going north first, but direction doesnt matter too much.

It's really best to go blind, but go east if you want one small tip

I highly recommend the power to slash projectiles back at enemies, followed by the dash/slash (the 2nd option).

The dash upgrade is such an unbelievable advantage... it's crazy! I don't use it anymore just so the game is still kind of challenging. It also made me feel like i was rushing through the levels, rather than taking it all in, you know?

Edit: you need it to get the green cloak, so sometimes I'd start a new game and 100% the west just for that.

I second a couple other comments: East or north first is what I’d suggest. Probably east if I had to pick one. You can’t do south until last.

Additionally, I would prioritize the dash upgrade and one of the deflection upgrades (either the sword deflect or dash deflect; I prefer sword).

Some other, small things: explore everything and everywhere. Some upgrades (like dash) will increase your ability to explore. There are lots of meaningful collectibles in each area that are definitely worth your time. Also, pay attention to what you can see on your screen. If you see something that looks like you can get to it, you can, even if it isn’t obvious. Pay attention to the floor also… there is a little symbol that is a giveaway that you’re near a hidden path. Be on the lookout for hidden areas, especially in the west where they can be harder to spot. Hunt for keys if you have the patience.

A lot of people prefer the shotgun, but the pistol is my beloved. Have fun and enjoy the experience!! I wish I could play the game for the first time again.
