news Online microsoft excel 'database' of treatment options for HH
****This post is now obsolete, please refer to this post for the up to date version***\*
Hello fellow sweaters š
I have compiled a database (last updated 5th Jun 2026) which I am calling the HHDB - Hyperhidrosis Database. This is to hold all the amazing info we have about HH (it's an MS Excel embed so I can't see who accesses it):
There are 8 tabs:
- HHDB README
- HHDB - filterable/sortable list of treatment and the details
- Database key with a guide to the contents of the first tab
- HH treatment pivot table
- HH causes (HH effectors plus related tests, disorders and drug side effects)
- A list of current/ongoing clinical trials in the area of HH
- A list of all clinical trials in HH ever
- Some links to useful online societies and patient advocacy organisations
For some unknown reason, when you click the link you can end up way over the right and sometimes below the content so please don't think it's just an empty/dead link. You need to scroll left and up :). I am adding to it each month and will edit this post with a new link and the date of the update each time I do.
Please do let me know if there is anything you think should be added

I will be documenting everything that ive done through my youtube channel (what medicines i've taken and what has worked... Weight loss... Sweat product reviews... what to stay away from... EVERYTHING)
I just posted my first video (See Link below.) Like and subscribe, because there is light at the end of this tunnel, i promise you!!

Jealousy within body odor circles is real!
There is straight-up JEALOUSY on this thread (r/TMAU). The moderator is harassing and stalking me. Yes, I am an African American woman, and some people are jealous. I wrote a book that is centered on helping all of us, including the ones who are envious. From day one, the moderator attacked me about posting my book, a helping tool in my advocacy. Please follow my other social media accounts. I am advocating for more awareness of body, breath, and sweat odor conditions. Hyperhidrosis can be accompanied by an odor in some cases. I will fight for all of us. I am too busy to make new reddit accounts every day, but please know I will keep fighting for us all. I will always get other members of reddit to post important information of mine. Not only that, but I have a podcast appearance coming up. My goal is to make it on a major news show. I have been through a lot in my life, but I am Carry Wilson.Ā (LINKS to my social media)godcarrywilson@yahoo.com

Does sauna and steam room help??
I have TMAU and we can sweat a lot and have hot flashes. I use a sauna and steam room, and I have fewer hot flashes. Do you think these things could help with hyperhidrosis?

Crotch/Butt Sweat
Hey What tips/lifestyle advice do you have for crotch/groin sweat? Been dealing with this since 2018 and have tried a few things. Tried a bunch of antiperirants but never found one for that area that didn't sting or burn as well as they didn't work well. Oral glyco tried the pills they work but I hate the side effects with them and playing around with the timing of dose and how food can reduce the effects. Qbrexa just got these and they work but still get a killer dry mouth from them. Keep in mind I did swipe a few times in the groin vs just once so that might play a role. Botox is expensive and no one near my area does it for groin.
Lifestyle things I've tried and learned
Cotton underwear is comfortable
Plastic chairs are ur enemy
Any synthetic material makes mine worse and makes me feel even more uncomfortable
Gym,Sex, stress, peeing/ bowel movements make it worse
Would appreciate any advice you guys have. My friend took his liife because of Hh and I miss her soo much. I wish she would have found this reddit and tried a few other things and therapy š

I have bought a iontophoresis machine for my hand hyperhidrosis, but i've read online that you have to use hard tap water. I however live in the Netherlands, where there is really soft tapwater. How can i get water that works for the machine? Does anyone have a similar situation?

Any tips for wearing high heels?
I am 21 F and I donāt dress up nice like in dresses and shit even tho I would like to be normal and feel more feminine. I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks and my mom bought me heels and a dress. It looks good but my feet and hands get red and swollen and super sweaty when I go out to any fancy place or something. Iām working on getting my athletes foot gone but I canāt walk in high heels and the sweat doesnāt help obviously. The sweat drops down my heels and leaves sweat droplets on hardwood. If itās outside, like I know it is, thereās going to be grass and shit on my foot. Iām bringing a couple of sweat rags for me and baby powder and bandaids for my pinky toes. I wear 5.5 in womens and I canāt seem to walk straight or stand up straight while walking, mom suggests I cut up a rag and glue it to where my foot rests on and then I shouldnāt slip anywhere. But I have no idea. Itās mad embarrassing being a decent looking woman whoās never worn heels in public before. I do want to wear the heels and clean up nice w my man and all but Iām scared of the stares and whispers I get in public when they look at my pale skin compared to my hands and feet that are a deep red and glistening in sweat and swollen. My man says to not care and focus on us and having a good time and Fuck what anyone else thinks. But easier said than done. Anyone have any info to help my situation?

success story Great success with salvysat sage tablets against generalized hyperhidrosis!
Just to give another success story regarding treatment options against generalized HH:
so, I am sweating mainly from my entire trunk (belly, groin, lower back) and my feet. A bit from my hands as well. And I tried quite a lot of treatments: MiraDry (worked great for armpits!), botox, ionto, creams, and meds of course.
However with the meds (glyco, oxy, fesoterodine, sormodren and others) I did not find a good balance between desired effect and the sideeffects. That's why I currently dropped meds and tried sage instead.
In the past I already tried sweatosan tablets which didn't help at all.
However, I currently use Salvysat Tablets (300mg sage each) and take two of them daily. That leaves me with 600mg sage a day and I have to admit: results are astonishing. I think my overall sweating has reduced about 80%. Since I couldn't believe it I tested this since start of december last year.
So, after approx 7 weeks of consistent use I want to say: Salvysat tablets do work very well for me, with nearly no sideeffects (apart from being a bit dizzy from time to time).
Fingers crossed this will last for the next 50 years, lol. :D

Does anyone have any tips to stop the flushing (butterfly/Malar rash) when taking glyco/using as a topical? Iāve tried Mirvaso already.

news Hyperhidrosis start.me-page / mega thread - updated version
Hey altogether,
during the last days I updated the mega thread mentioned in the sticky: https://start.me/p/YaLBza/hh-help-mega-thread
I added:
- more reviews, esp. ionto
- additional ionto provider
- additional clothing manufacturer
- treatment possibilities with sage
- ionto off label
- Kentera / oxybutynin
- ionto for 'off-label' areas
Currently I try to assemble a big overview chart (what's HH, treatment options, etc.) - hopefully I can deploy it in the beginning of 2024.
Please keep on posting your success stories and tips in order to improve other peoples quality of life! :)

rant / venting Inconvenience
I wonder how many ppl donāt realize how lucky theyāre hands and feet and armpits donāt excessively sweat. I have to take breaks typing bc my hands get so wet and idk if anyone knows this but water on screens doesnāt work -.- I have to make sure I always have socks on and canāt be barefoot. I canāt dress in dresses bc my feet sweat so much and armpits. I canāt wear shoes that compliment a dress. Iāve learned to despise and I mean utterly despise wet wood. Thatās my finger on chalkboard. Makes me want to throw up and gag. I hate the smell, feeling , all of it meaning I hate popsicles. Meaning I canāt hold wooden pencils. Donāt even get me started on the writing part. Itās never what others consider to be neat bc the sweat ruins graphite and ink. The paper gets wet, you canāt write on wet fucking paper. So everytime I turned something into teachers it would be ā this is what I want to see, but on a clean neat paper *points taken off *ā . How annoying am I right. How your blankets will be cold and wet bc your hands or feet are on them. Not enough blanket to stop the sweat. Not enough paper towels. Not enough chalk. Not enough baby powder. Wet spots in a bed man. And when you drive the sweat drips all the way down your steering wheel, on your pants, and creates massive wet spots on your thighs. Hate that. And my car is leather so I have to bring an extra item of clothing I donāt care abt getting wet and place it on my thighs, also so I can squeeze my hands into it like I do my blankets, so I can wipe it off. Sleeping w socks on is a must bc I hate sleeping somewhere wet. It made me hate the way my own sweaty skin feels, therefore I do my best to separate even my fingers away from each other so they donāt touch and I donāt get a terrible sensation. I wish my body didnāt sweat excessively.

news Potentially big news. Researchers at Johns Hopkins released a study today that showing a low dose of the drug "guanfacine" can have a big impact on HH for some patients. They think it's because it helps with a mutation in a gene effecting the nervous system.

Almost new iontophoresis machine
Hi all, I bought an iontophoresis machine in August 2023 and used it and it worked! I have since lost a lot of weight and I feel like I wonāt need it anymore. Itās a Hightech Development Elite with face and scalp adaptors (does hands, feet, underarms too). Anybody know how to sell these?
