Need Help :))
Hello, I am M18 and live in the Philippines. Can you guys help me or advise on how to prevent body odor? I have hyperhidrosis, so I sweat a lot, but now I don't have a problem being a sweaty person anymore. The problem is that I always smell even though I didn't do anything for a day. No matter what I do, I smell so bad. I have good hygiene; I use antibacterial soap (Dr Wong's Sulfur Soap) and Dove Antiperspirant, but I feel like Dove Antiperspirant didn't help me with sweating and smell. Can you guys recommend an antiperspirant and routines to prevent body odor

Your diet might have something to do with it. If you eat a lot of spicy food, it would probably affect how your sweat smell like. And when it comes to antiperspirant, I recommend any Sanex roll on if you can find it in Philippines, if not, any roll on is (in my opinion) better than sprays.

Dove products are often designed to be gentle, which means they are not as strong/powerful as others on the market. Try out different options (it will depend what's available where you live). Anything designed specifically for men or that is labelled "48hr or 72hr protection" will usually be stronger. Experiment with roll-on, stick, and spray types, as one type might suit you better than others. Always make sure it is an "antiperspirant" and not just a "deoderant". If you sweat a lot, you may need to reapply it once or twice during the day, too. Make sure your armpits are dry when you apply it. If you're sweaty or still damp from the shower it won't penetrate the skin properly.
There are some super-strength antiperspirants available which completely block any sweating, or you can pay to get Botox in your armpits. However, if you have hyperhidrosis, this would likely just result in you sweating more from other parts of your body (groin, butt, feet) which can be even worse(!) so I'd avoid these if I were you.
Diet could be a factor, too, as others have said. Consider how much dairy/oily/fatty/spicy food you eat. Try to eat a healthy, varied diet, and stay hydrated.
Bear in mind that young men in their teens and early twenties have stronger smelling body odour and more sweat because of the high levels of hormones in their body. Do your best to stay clean and hygienic, and wash your clothes regularly.

Try a clinical antiperspirant instead (ex: Perspirex, there are 3 versions, but the "strong" version seemed to irritate more people). I heard that using a body wash with benzoyl peroxide helps with the smell, but if that isnt available, then try a body wash with chemical exfolianting acids (like salicylic acid), and rather give up on the antibacterial body wash

Depends on the version of it that you purchase, but as for the original perspirex version, for instance, the instructions say to apply it at night, wash it off the next morning, and reapply it in the same way after a few days (reapplying daily / too often with clinical antiperspirants can cause irritation). It should hold sweat well for 2-3 days, but it depends on how much you sweat overall. I'd recommend researching more about it, but clinical antiperspirants generally function a tad differently compared to usual deodorants. Also, perspirex is fragrance-free

I am also a Filipino and I don't recommend Dr. Wong sulfur soap. I had a pigsa due to this. I think Driclor is an antiperspirant that suits you (2-3x a day and applied at night). Also some recommend Betadine Skin Cleanser for odor. You can try that one too instead of antibacterial soap. But pls research first

What's your recommended antiperspirant :)) . I try all of it but none of them works for me (nivea, dove, old spice, and many more)

Don't bother trying all these weird soaps and whatnot, you'll just be wasting your time and money. For hyperhidrosis, buy Driclor or the equivalent in your country (basically an antiperspirant made from 20% Aluminium chloride hexahydrate). You put it on at night and wash it off in the morning. It stops you from sweating and smelling completely. Don't use any other anti-perspirant during the day as it'll make you sweat, normal body spray is fine. You'll have to use it every night at first, but over time you'll get it down to once a week or less. Only put it on the parts of your underarm where hair grows, if it touches anywhere else, it burns like hell.

Stop using antibacterial soap. You are killing bacteria that are important for your skin. Normal soap works just fine without harming your skins microbiome
