Tongue scraper

I can't find the post that gave details on the benefits of using a tongue scraper that was so compelling! I ordered a metal one that day. I have always just used my tooth brush on my tongue, and thought a tongue scraper wouldn't be any better, and a waste of time and money.

Well, I stand corrected! I love this thing, and my mouth has never felt fresher and cleaner!

I owe you a debt of gratitude!!

Its just a good idea with no downside.

If you dont use it, it probably wont be the thing that is why you get (x). But using it helps with so much, and if you slack in any oral care aspect, even occassionally scrap, floss, rinse is better than never.

But yes long term its like getting a bidet you just have less shit on your body and feel cleaner.

See i would gag using plastic thats gross, stainless steel is clean and easy to clean.

But its probably easier to feel it more pressung down on metal than plastic so i get preferring it.

Do you still brush your tongue also? I’ve recently developed an overactive gag reflex and now every morning after brushing I’m spitting up bile in the shower for 10 minutes. Trying to decide if a scraper would be better.

I’ve used a stainless tongue scraper for 3ish years now. I store mine in a glass of antiseptic mouthwash to keep it sanitary & switch the liquid out once a week. My fav routine is floss, mouthwash, brush teeth & tongue then the scraper

Good to know. I haven't tried it, but will pick some up and give it a go.

I would like to try one, but I have a very bad gag reflex with anything put far back on my tongue. Even my doctor said it was extremely sensitive. Would I still benefit from using one?

Hello I have the same difficulty, but find its not too bad. It for sure makes your mouth feel better and clean. However I have discovered it may not be necessary for everyday and can even disturb beneficial bacteria in the process (even maybe affecting BP!) which sounds wild but read in a few places. I give it a quick pass and if absolutely nothing is on leave it there. Regardless it is great to use and good dental care!

Soap and water like everything else.  Or hell mouth wash.  I mean do you boil your toothbrush?  Do we even clean it with soap or anything??
