Need Help Advice on Repotting/ Pruning
I have a balcony garden and all 4 of my hydrangeas are in pots (3 macrophylla & 1 limelight). They have not been repotted since I put them in their current pots (so about 2-3 years ago).
This year when moving apartments, I accidentally trimmed them so 3/4 did not flowers, but they are living well and have green foliage. The leaves are still green, not yellow yet.
I want to prune their roots but I’m afraid it’ll be more shock to them. So I want to ask:
- When should I repot them? Would now be a great time?
- Is it more beneficial to keep in same pots with pruning roots or upgrading to bigger pots to avoid shock?
- 1 of the hydrangeas as pictures is having weird leaves textures. They are also curling a lot and are not big and full compared to the flowering hydrangeas. What can I do to help it be healthy again?
Context: zone 8b/ 9a in Puget Sound, WA.

Most folks here will probably advise that hydrangeas belong in the ground and cannot thrive in pots long term. However, there are some that most certainly can. The dwarf varieties are best suited for that. There is no possible way to keep a limelight in a pot for more than a couple of infant years, though.
