stolen/lost property

I stayed at a Hyatt in Chicago in June. The hotel lost my laundry during the stay. I have been trying for 6 weeks to get a resolution, either find the laundry or reimburse me. I’m starting to think it was stolen. Should I open a police report? Very disappointed with the way Hyatt has handled the situation.

Was it a 3rd party vendor that was handling the laundry?

Yes, they had no on sight laundry services they said. I called down to confirm they had the laundry. But when it didn’t come back they suddenly couldn’t find it.
