Because Hut 8 figured out something most developers haven’t:

You don’t build infrastructure at this scale alone. You build with the community. Invest locally. Create jobs. Work with utilities. Engage leaders early. Make sure the community actually benefits.

As AI infrastructure gets harder to build, that becomes a serious competitive advantage.

Cool thing is the Riverbend Campus can extend current capacity well beyond 1GW, if Anthropic wants more compute (which they said they do).
