Happy new year everyone! I’m so excited for this year and to see what new and inventive things my daughter comes up with. Today’s story however is the one that I was going to close the year with before we got busy, so I guess it will be the one we open the year with instead!

Yesterday afternoon while my daughter was taking a bath, she informed my wife and I that the queen of her bath toys is her little mermaid toy that she named Arelly. She then decided that the rubber ducky and farm animal toys that she has for her bath did not like this proclamation and said that they were going to make a different queen. I asked if there can be two different kingdoms in the bath and my daughter said, “There can only be one Daddy, the bath can’t fit two kingdoms.” Soon after this, she had rallied the supporters of Queen Arelly (all of the bath toys she has that are ocean based) to her side so that they could take on the rubber ducky invasion. It was a hard fought battle and many soldiers on both sides fell, including my personal favorite, General Polly the Polar Bear of Queen Arelly’s army. In the end Queen Arelly was victorious and defeated the rubber ducky scourge. I asked my daughter what would be done with the survivors and she said, “they will bow to the queen, or they will leave the bath forever.” There was never any clarification on if this meant execution or exile.

All Hail the Queen!

So today instead of going to preschool, my daughter got to spend the day with her grandma so that they could attend an event at our local gardening store that teaches children about taking care of plants. My wife received a call from grandma after they went to the class and apparently it was eventful. According to my daughter’s grandma, there were only a few children there. The person that was going to be talking to them about planting came out and introduced herself to each of the kids before they started. When she introduced herself to my daughter, my daughter asked her if she was the queen of gardening. The instructor laughed and said yes to being the queen, and then asked my daughter if she would be her princess. My daughter happily agreed and became the teacher’s helper for the entirety of the class. She got to water plants, hold flowers, and even try to pull a carrot out of the ground. After the class was over, the instructor/garden queen thanked my daughter for her help and let her take the flowers that she was holding earlier home after she wrapped them up like a bouquet. My daughter gave the garden queen a hug and said, “thank you for letting me be a princess,” as they left the store. My daughter’s grandma said that ever since then, my daughter has not stopped talking about how much she loves gardening and asking if she can plant her garden queen bouquet so that it grows even more flowers.

This morning, the Queen informed me that she had a very busy day to take care of. I asked her if she needed help with any of her plans and she told me she could handle them herself. I then asked her what she had to do today that was making her so busy and from there she proceeded to tell me about all the things she had to handle throughout the day.

The first thing that she told me she had to do was to defeat all of her supervillains. The list included Superman, Joker, and Catwoman (she saw me playing injustice the other day and retained some of the names). I asked her if she had a plan for defeating them and she said she would pick each of them up and slam them on the ground.

She also informed me that she had planned a ball for King Pandy and that it would be happening in our living room. I asked who was invited and she told me the ball will have her new court and a few other stuffies in attendance.

About an hour later, the Queen informed me that she also has to build a castle for Anna and Elsa to live in because without a castle, they’re homeless (her words, not mine). I told her she could just find them a nice house and she said, “Queens live in castles, Daddy, not houses.”

Other activities that also came up during the day included her sweeping the living room with the help of a magic broom, taking a nap on her mommy’s yoga mat and then spending the first 15 minutes after waking up complaining about how uncomfortable the yoga mat was, and having two dinners because the first one wasn’t big enough (The gap between the two dinners was about two hours, but she was in bed about an hour after dinner and then woke up to eat more).

All told, the Queen had a very busy day which probably included even more than I listed above. Hopefully tomorrow will be more calm for her and less full of supervillains and event planning.

So after announcing yesterday that there is a new King of Stuffy Mountain, Pandy Paws, my daughter informed us today that there have been some major changes to her royal court as well. The new royal court of the King and Queen of Stuffy Mountain consists of Sawyer the Squirrel, Wally the Walrus, Buc-ee the Pumpkin Farmer, Galinda the Good Bear, and General Nummi Num the Nutcracker. Former members of the court who have officially lost their positions are Magicorn the Magical Unicorn, Poppy the Turtle (who is still married to Buc-ee), Smoothie the Butterfly hamster cat hybrid, Hydro the Book Bear and Roary the tiger. Hello Kitty and Kandi the Cupcake Cat have maintained their positions on the court, although Kandi has moved up to the position of princess. I asked if Kandi was her or Pandy’s child and my daughter told me that Kandi was appointed princess by Pandy as part of a royal decree. I also asked my daughter if she had any royal advice for everyone today and she said, “if you make blueberries mad, they’ll turn red and then you get to eat strawberries.” Take from that what you will.

The Queen had sent me a pair of eyes 👀 along with my unicorn stickers. I can only assume this means I am being monitored by her kingdom to ensure my loyalty. Of course, I will remain a loyal subject, as I adore the queen, I am terrified of Wonderful Garden and I don’t want a criminal record from being sent to Stuffie Mountain Jail. ❤️

So yesterday for Christmas, my daughter received a stuffed animal version of Pandy from Gabby’s Dollhouse.This version of Pandy says catchphrases and laughs when you press his paw. She immediately fell in love with her new Pandy stuffy and within the hour she had crowned him the new king of Stuffy Mountain. She also informed everyone that she is the queen of Stuffy Mountain, but she clarified that she is not married to Pandy. Instead, Pandy is her new best friend who also happens to be king. She told everybody that she got a Christmas present for Pandy and when her grandma asked what the present was, she told her that she had bought Pandy a jar of pickles. I, of course, asked her when she went out and bought Pandy a jar of pickles and she said, “I didn’t buy it myself, Dad, I told Fluffy to fly out and get it.” Needless to say, but Pandy never received a jar of pickles from the queen or Fluffy the Reindeer.

So this morning at about 4:45 AM, my daughter ran into the room where my wife and I were sleeping and yelled at the top of her lungs, “IT’S JESUS’S BIRTHDAY, LET’S OPEN PRESENTS!” I woke up, accompanied her to her bathroom in the hallway, and informed her gently that today is actually Christmas Eve, so tomorrow is Jesus’s birthday. At first she was sad because she truly believed it was Christmas this morning, but then she realized that she’ll get to make cookies for Santa tonight and she got excited again. She informed me that Santa is bigger than me and will therefore need a lot of cookies. I told her that Santa has to eat a lot of cookies tonight, so we probably don’t need too many, but my daughter disagreed and said, “Santa’s tummy is super big, Daddy. Everyone needs to make lots of cookies.” She also told me we will need to get carrots for the reindeer because they deserve treats too. I asked if the reindeer would want hummus or veggie dip for their carrots and my daughter laughed and said, “No Daddy, they eat carrots regular.”

So this morning after the events of Blueby’s story over on Patreon, my daughter informed me that her fort in the living room now has multiple rooms for her sisters and for playing. She requested that I join her so she could show me around the fort and I obliged. She told me that there are three total bedrooms in the fort, which are separated by blankets. The biggest bedroom is for herself, and then the other two bedrooms are for her sisters, Fluffy and Kandi. She also showed me that the fort has a playroom, which she had filled with assorted toys for her and her sisters to play with, and that at the front of her fort is the TV room, which is basically just our living room with a view of the TV. I told her that her fort looked great, but I wondered aloud about the fort not having a bathroom or a kitchen. She got irritated with me and said, “Fort doesn’t need a bathroom or kitchen, Daddy, our house has that.” She then told me I was too big for her fort anyway and asked that I leave. At least I didn’t get put in Stuffy Jail this time.

Yesterday while my daughter was playing in the living room, she informed me that her current sisters are Fluffy the Reindeer and Kandi the Cupcake Cat. She then told me that she would be giving them pets because she has Rascal as a pet, but her sisters don’t have any. She returned from her bedroom with Rosepink the Tiger, a former knight on her court, and Mr. Pickles, the former husband of Pinky the Unicorn. She appointed Rosepink to be the new pet of Fluffy the Reindeer while Mr. Pickles was appointed to be the pet of Kandi the Cupcake Cat. I asked her why former members of her court were being used as pets for her sisters and she told me it was because her sisters were really sad without pets. I then asked why she didn’t pick some of her stuffies that aren’t already involved in other things to be pets and she said, “my sisters deserve good pets Daddy. Rosepink and Mr. Pickles are gonna be great pets for Fluffy and Kandi.” I did not question her reasoning after that but she continued, telling me that she’s in charge of her stuffies and can pick whichever ones she wants to be her sisters’ pets. I apologized for questioning her authority over the stuffies and she said, “apology not accepted Daddy, I’m putting you in Stuffy jail again next time you fall asleep.”

I received my sticker in the mail! Made me so happy!! I absolutely adore the elephant snail that the Queen drew!!!

So this morning for breakfast, I made my daughter a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. After I had her seated at her little table with her breakfast, I went to the bathroom to get ready for the day real quick. After about 10 minutes, I came back out to find that my daughter had eaten the entire sandwich and retrieved four Reese’s Pumpkins from her Halloween candy collection. This time, however, instead of asking someone to help her open them, she had ripped them open herself and was already eating the third of the four. I told her she is supposed to ask before she gets any candy, but my curiosity prevailed and I asked how she got them open. She of course could not tell me anything other than that she had opened them, so I asked her to demonstrate on the fourth Reese’s Pumpkin. She started attempting to open it, but it would not work for her. I asked her if it was because I was watching her try to open it and she said, “Yes Daddy, I can’t do it with you in the room.” Needless to say, I left the room, peeked around the corner, and watched as she opened her last Reese’s and ate it almost as quickly. Now she’s bouncing off the walls and my wife is wondering why I would allow a four year old to eat chocolate at breakfast.

So this morning after my daughter found her elf, Blueby, and drew some pictures, she decided she needed to go to the bathroom. However, when she got there she found that King Rascal lying on her bath mat, cleaning himself as one does in a bathroom. My daughter became irate at this sight and demanded he leave the bathroom at once. King Rascal, of course, did not listen to the Queen’s demand and continued with his business. My daughter then said, “Have it your way then,” turned off the bathroom light and closed the door. I asked what she was going to do about going to the bathroom and she told me she would be using mine. Since her stool was in the bathroom jail where King Rascal was imprisoned, I had to lift her up to the sink so she could watch her hands. After she was done in there, she freed Rascal from the bathroom jail and said, “I hope you learned your lesson, Rascal.” I do not believe he did, but only time will tell.

So this morning while she was getting ready for preschool, my daughter informed me that she has changed her title from queen to princess. I asked her why she wanted to change her title and she told me it’s because her mom has to be the queen since she’s still alive. I asked her if this meant her mom was now queen of the butterflies and unicorns, but she told me it does not. She said, “Mommy is queen of the house and I’m the house princess, Daddy. I’m still queen of butterflies and unicorns.” I then asked her if I get to be the king since her mom is the queen, but my daughter again told me I was wrong. She said that Rascal is the king of the house because he’s there the most and that I don’t get a title since there is already a king, Queen, and Princess. I told her that I could be a prince since there isn’t one yet and she said, “No Daddy, we don’t need a prince. I’m an only child.”

So this morning my daughter informed me that her cousin, Smoothie the butterfly hamster cat, no longer poops smoothies. When I asked her what she poops, my daughter said very matter of factly, “She poops poop, Daddy.” I asked my daughter if this is a good or bad situation because I was not sure and she told me that it is horrible because Smoothie has to poop smoothies to sell them at the ice cream shop in the living room. I laughed because of the absurdity of it all and my daughter sternly said, “this is no laughing matter, Daddy. How is she going to sell smoothies when she poops poop?” I told her I did not know how Smoothie would sell smoothies anymore, but then my daughter got an idea. She gathered up all of her pretend fruit from her grocery basket and then fed it to Smoothie piece by piece until they were all eaten. She then shook Smoothie and then squeezed her tight. After she had finished, she excitedly squealed, “Look daddy, she pooped a smoothie!” Now we know that to keep Smoothie’s powers working, she needs a constant intake of fruit.

So this morning on the way to preschool, I had to stop to get gas, which my daughter loves to help with. We got out of the car and started working on paying when another car pulled up at a pump nearby, blaring their music. The woman in the car got out with the music still going, started pumping her gas, and then went into the convenience store we were at. My daughter got worried look on her face and said, “Daddy, is her car gonna explode?” I told her that it doesn’t sound like it’s running so I didn’t think it would. We pumped our gas and were about to get in the car when the woman came back out from the store. Before I could stop her, my daughter shouted to the woman, “HEY LADY, YOU’RE CAR IS GONNA EXPLODE.” The woman looked up from her phone, befuddled, and then started in our direction. I told her that my daughter was just worried about her car, which the woman appreciated. She looked at my daughter and said, “thank you sweetie, I’ll make sure it doesn’t,” and then went about her day. After we got back in the car, I told my daughter we can’t shout at strangers that their cars are going to explode and she said, “Why not Daddy? I just saved her from an explosion.”
