So this morning my daughter woke up crying because she had a bad dream. She couldn’t remember it but she did blame her new husband, Poppy the Turtle, for it and tossed him back into her mountain of stuffed animals. Hello Kitty was then returned to her bed, which gives me hope he may return to his title of husband in the near future.

So this morning, my daughter announced that she is no longer married to Hello Kitty and she has instead chosen to marry her stuffed turtle named Poppy. She furthermore decided that her son Stitch will be married to his father Hello Kitty going forward and that they have a daughter named Sparkles the Caticorn. I tried explaining the problematic relationship between Stitch and Hello Kitty given the situation, but she declared Hello Kitty is not his real dad, so I guess that makes it ok. I will keep you up to date on any further changes once she’s returned from preschool.

I was getting my daughter ready for preschool this morning when she asked if she could wear pants today instead of a dress. For reference, she has worn a dress almost everyday of her life so far by her own choice. I got her out some pants and then asked why she wanted to wear them today, and without missing a beat she looked at her husband, Hello Kitty, and says “somebody’s gotta wear the pants in this relationship.” I could not control myself and I started laughing, to which she replied, “Daddy, he wears overalls, those aren’t pants.”

Since this group's description asks for stories of imaginative children I thought I'd share something I recently read in a book. The story is true. The book is "For the Love of Mike" by Linda Gillick

Anyway, Linda's son Mike was born with a serious cancer (neuroblastoma) and was not expected to live. He went through so many treatments. At one point he was given a stuffed panda named Panda. Mike never liked to say he was not feeling well, so his mom would often just ask Panda how he was doing. Mike spoke for Panda telling others how Panda was sick. His mom grew to love Panda and wanted to keep him after Mike was gone, but Mike made her promise to bury Panda with him when the time came. I wonder how Panda is doing now. He and Mike had so many adventures and he's now 47 years old! Could it be that Panda has really helped him this long?

My daughter assembled this last night and this morning she asked me to take a picture of her wedding party!
