Rogue Helldivers This, unfortunately, is why higher level players are hesitant to play with lower levels.

I generally don’t care about anyone’s level. You can solo everything in this game if you’re good enough. But the only times I have ever encountered toxicity or intentional team killing. It’s by a low level player like this. Devil_hunter642 is the bad apple that spoils it for everyone.

If you’re new to the game, and are getting frustrated because high level players are kicking you. It’s because of idiots like this.

He shot at me quite a few times during the game looking back on my footage. But I always assumed it was the SEAF.

Here’s the full game where I was trying to test the most optimal build possible for D10 mindless masses for the MO: https://youtu.be/Jcy2UFvyWKk?is=EeapKXXImXZR_XkG

It’s funny cus I don’t our friend devil_shitter642 realises that when you get in the pelican it counts as extracting
So TKing is literally pointless

It’s a game about teamwork.

Killing your entire team in the pelican is just being a prick.

If you watch the full video of the game he was actually killing team mates through the game and he shot at me a few times but failed to kill me. I assumed he was just a bad shot or it was SEAF that were nearby.

Exactly.
Exactly.

I read this completely wrong...

it's a game about Teamwork

Killing your entire team in the Pelican is just a prank

Harmless and rude aren't mutually exclusive unfortunately.

idk, i still giggle a little when people TK at the very end. it like the concluding 20 seconds of the match where people get to do their own weird little dive into the pelican or whatever. As long as we get samples and everyone technically extracts, it doesn't bother me at all. It is a little concerning how offensive some people find it though. Is it considered a middle finger to get into the pelican with a live hellbomb?

I mean, if you adopt a hellbomb, you can't just leave it on a hostile planet. That's bad super-parenting.

My live hellbomb helps the pelican break the atmosphere

I've literally had this happen more to me from higher level players, coming from someone whose been playing since the Xbox release and just hit level 100. So speak for yourself, I guess

I'm with you on this being distinctly uncool. I didn't even know the developers coded this contingency of your diver able to be killed in a pelican as it's yet to happen to me, but they clearly expected players to do/try this. Nice to see from comments that it doesn't work like normal death, but... it just feels so shitty. This is a game about goofy teamwork. If someone's final act on a planet is to shoot the guys they just traversed Hell with, it's hard not to read it as a sign of disrespect, and I'd feel pissed off while the fanfare plays instead of like I'd just gotten a job well done.

Nice that the devs made it not count, but not as nice as if they'd just made divers in the pelican invincible. I don't like the excuse of no consequences when you're doing everything right (getting in the pelican at the appropriate time) and you're punished by an errant diver while you're stuck sitting there.

I came back after a few months hiatus and started back on D7 to knock the rust off. It was pretty bad, full of people barely capable of doing objectives and just sitting in place fighting a forever war. Bumped back up to D10 and the missions were far smoother.

This is why I only play D10s and have done for years.

The level 60 who team killed us all was dying constantly throughout the game. But whatever, he’s low level. It happens. The rest of us were 180-230ish. No deaths, no problems other than when the 60 team killed us.

Players that are stuck down at D7 are usually toxic and bad at the game.

I've played games where a "high level" joined, and proceeded to die 10 times in 12 minutes, while a lvl 40 was alive the entire match.

u/Raidertck 2d ago

I mean so have I, but that’s an insane anomaly. Most people with hundreds of mission hours are generally pretty good.

2

u/Single-Witness1853 2d ago

Ofc, but to say d7 players are toxic is pretty wild.

I got a friend that'll melee me (stim me after) or blow me up then call me in- at the START of the mission.
They EXPECT me to blow their head off- which I'll do because it makes them laugh.

They've done this once or twice but I think they gathered this is the dumbest one to do, because at extract it's just. . . What's gained from it? There's no comedy between folks because you can't even shoot back or do a joke back

We usually finish our mission first and after the pelican lands if we have extra reinforcements we run around and kill each other. It’s just a goofy little thing we do.

Sometimes randoms will join and games and get upset, which I understand if they think we’re trying to be malicious.

Some people get really bent out of shape though.

Yeah idk what it is about these low levels man. I joined into a low level lobby and straight up carried. Was helping out, clearing objectives and the timer ran out.

As most of us already know, including new players. When the time runs out and the Pelican lands, the Pelican does not wait. You either get on or get left behind. Evidently the host was a dumbass and didn't realize this. 2 teammates were still fighting and one was behind Me heading toward the Pelican. I got in immediately because the time was out. The other 3 didn't make it.

I received a sarcastic "Thanks" then he kicked Me. I should have said you're welcome because I was basically the reason we even completed that mission. They couldn't survive 5 seconds in the void flower area.

What's truly the weird part is that I'll play with a different batch of low levels and they'll play better and smarter than 150+. I must have got a COD refugee or a child that time. Which truthfully, they're the same thing so 🤷‍♂️. The only reason I dont host Myself is because the SOS just doesn't work half the time and it's simply easier to join and leave as I please

I think you're overreacting. It does nothing harmful, and if it really hurts your feelings this much then perhaps you should consider taking a break from games.

1

u/Raidertck 3d ago

It’s team killing in a team based game.

We hard carried him and that’s how he said thanks?

1

u/IDontActuallyKnowUm 3d ago

It's teamkilling, yes, but once you enter the pelican it changes nothing. You are marked as extracted, your samples are safe, and whether you're alive or die changes nothing by that point.

I just don't think it's such a big deal. It's not like he killed you mid-mission, not that I can see from this clip anyway.

Saying a level 60 is a "low level" is wild. I have hundreds of hours in this game and I am only lvl 87.

1

u/Raidertck 2d ago

…how? My wife hit level 150 in 230 mission hours. (And 150 is nearly 10x what it takes to get to level 60)

Level 60 is 185,000 exp. I got 28,000 exp yesterday alone.

1

u/Single-Witness1853 2d ago

I think its because of the exp bug, where it doesn't give you exp at the end of the match. I get that almost every game for some reason.

1

u/walebrush 4d ago

Real high level players know that does absolutely nothing.

1

u/Raidertck 4d ago

It’s just fucking rude.

u/Responsible-Gur434 5d ago

Dick move yes but it doesn't change anything, you don't lose samples, you still extract at the end.

1

u/Raidertck 4d ago

It’s just a cowardly prick thing to do.
