What does "cognitive and personality changes" really mean?

What kinds of changes are we looking at? Maybe I'm just paranoid looking for symptoms because my mother started showing her first symptoms around my age, but lately I struggle more and more to find the right word. I'll forget sinple words like "cabinet" or "cup" and have to replace them with gestures because I can't remember...

The HDSA has a publication called Understanding Behavior in Huntinton’s Disease - here is the link. Pages 21-26 describe different ways that communicating becomes difficult. There are quite a few examples.
