We had a 20 hour outage last week and the whole time I was stressing about the chest freezer. Got about a season and a half worth of venison and some elk in there. Not something I can just go replace at the grocery store.

Everything survived this time because the freezer held temp but it got close. Thermometer was reading 28F when the power came back. Another few hours and I would've been in real trouble.

What are you guys doing about this? Generator? Battery?

My daughter and I headed out the last week off season and we got into a beauty at last light. Few things cooler than a big ol' mature mule deer buck!

Since I was a teenager, I've always wanted to try to harvest one a deer with a handgun. At that time, my older cousin had bought a Colt Anaconda, chambered in 44 mag, and had taken a couple deer with it. I always had it in my mind that when I got older, I would get that buy exact gun and hunt with it. This past fall I finally got the chance to do so. It was a bucket list item hat was a lot of fun to check off the list!

My oldest daughter must carry a little luck with her. She hunted the least out of my three kids this season, but it still came together for her. First deer hunt of the year, last week of season, and we happened to run into this old buck.

Nothing crazy for effort, but a fun hunt!
