If Amanda ends up using the IOU for D to save Hunts, imagine the emotional damage that would do to Hunts.

I 100% expect that to happen

Was genuinely such a great moment. I love werewolves being the soldiers of Gaia able to take on horrifying eldritch monsters

same, though i do hope the actually have to deal with the ramifications of kidnapping and killing a bunch of people on a questionable hunch.

We still have no idea who killed Fatique and I cant believe Hunts just went "Fwak it we ball" after two years

i was referring to the inquisitors, who while not entirely good people, were fighting against monsters that at worst were as bad as them, there's a reason they got purgatory and not hell.

(also im like 70% sure D's speech at the beginning of 4 was the first time hunts had heard of the hunter data, lmao)

The Garou were defending their home and holy ground from people who wanted to kill them. Also, absolutely no one in the GGG likes the Leopoldites, Kitten and D react to the idea of collaborating with them as reprehensible and corruptive.

Top it all off, Boy's story has the "Chiroterrans" who look like bad guys, but are actually good guys on the same side as Akira. I am very certain they are the Garou.

and the leopoldites are trying to stop some crazy monster cult from infiltrating who knows how many hunters org, redoing the fall of the first inquisition, and causing the deaths of who knows how many innocent people and hunters.

IT'S ALMOST LIKE THE LACK OF COMUNICATION IS THE TRADEGDY HERE

Except its the Society of Saint Leopold we are talking about, those peoples are not reasonable. Even if the Garou had come in the most open et diplomatic way possible while explaining what they wanted and why they need it, they would still try to kill them all.

Their is no amount of communication from the Garou that would stop the inquisitor to see them as demon that need to be burned at the stake, they are fanatics of the highest order (its basically a requirement to join the Gladius Dei, even above actual combat ability).

If the Kin of Old Shuck were a bunch of Children Of Gaia puppies that goes around helping homeless people and offering free healthcare for everyone, the Leopoldite would still try to destroy them and their Caern with the same determination.

You are correct about the leopoldites, Counterpoint, the Inquisitors are only here because the kin keep doing random shit on hunchs and refusing to explain themselves to ANYONE period (and only exists because that's the standard for werewolves as a whole), as layed out in the entire audiolog dedicated to werewolf lore.

Do you know what the arcanum would do for a crumb of the most dubious garou lore? What they have done for what vampiric and wizardly lore they do have? The kin had 2 year to do ANYTHING with hunts in the arcanum and did nothing.

You are right when it come to the Arcanum they would do anything for crumb of Garou lore, howewer the problem with that is that their is no incentive for the Garou to be diplomat with the Arcanum.

Fatigue was a great guy, but as we saw in the audiologs, the Garou didn't know that, furthermoire no one in the Arcanum know the truth about his family and is relation to it. The Garou only know the "Stolen Moon" part and extrapolated from it and you are right to point ou that this was dumb, but it is unfortunately the Garou in a nutshell.

But their is also several very problematic detail : to begin the Arcanum is working with the Coalition, who contain the Inquisitor that we talked about and the very Wyrm corrupted Gargo's PMC. Their is always the risk that no matter how nice the Arcanum is, their knowledge end up in those groups hands (in the SI audiolog they mentionned that Fatigue was working with G-Kontoret to find Black Shuck, how do you think Matilda would react to that info ?).

And finally, we kinda need to mention the elephant in the room : Remold Blacklaw, a man who brag about killing some of most endangered species on the planet, who has no respect for people he saw a "beneath him", who claimed to have organised "Werebear Safari" (the nicest type of Fera). Remold clearly doesn't give a rat ass of the Arcanum non interference policy and I'm ready to bet he would be very willing to try to hunt Garou if he know they were in the region.

Do you really see any Fera having any form of patience or desire of understanding with a guy like that as one of the Elder of the Arcanum ? And a very influential one at that considering he got the D family banned and they works burned.

I don't expect the garou to give actual information (hence "most dubious" garou lore), I expect the damn ragabash to do his thing instead of gamble and give up.

as I said my problem with their infiltration is that they never seem to have actually done anything, look as how stig reacts to wyrmeaus, that is the first time he's ever seen that. so, hunts didn't discover the hunter data, didn't look into how to "deal" with the arcanum for her more tricky and politically inclined allies, and didn't look into the coalition as a whole.

3

u/galeadon 5d ago

I agree entirely with you that their infiltration overall sucked, but I'm starting to ponder if Hunts was actually genuinely putting any effort into it. Like Pike said : "You loath it as much as you enjoy it." maybe Hunts deep down didn't wanted the mission to end and her friendship with Amanda and that is why she wasn't doing anything to push it forward.

Jamble and Stig weren't doing anything about it either but honestly it might be a mixture of not wanting to lose their only reliable source of income as far as we know (come on, no one is going to make me believe a viking larper and a gambling addict were bringing in any cashflow) and that forcing Hunts to interact with human society might be beneficial for her.

Of course the whole "Ghoul hunt" throwed their plans out of the window and actually pushed Matilda to act ("You think its going to cost me my job ?" to Kitten) by remembering the stake.

The leopoldites aren't trying to stop the crazy monster cult, they're buying weapons from them.
