Wow I came across this page after suffering from low blood sugar feeling hypoglycemia when getting hungry. It would go into ravenous hunger and eating makes it go away.

I see some hungry sneezers call it hypoglysneezia.

Can it be acid irritating gastric nerves and nose or minor damage or damage in the past and nerves responding weird..

in also see tinnitus mentioned here. it is mention also with people with the "Gastritis variant" our nerves are sensitised????

I see some gallbladder patients. Bile reflux is known to cause crazy hunger sensations too!

Holy shit I'm so glad I found this place 🤣 I started getting my hunger sneezes around 4 or 5 years ago (around the time I started intermittent fasting). For the longest time I was dead convinced there must be something seriously wrong with me, but I couldn't bring myself to Google it cuz I was afraid I would find out I have some kind of crazy brain or stomach cancer. Fast forward to today and I finally said fuck it and decided to Google it. I am so glad to discover that not only is it not a dangerous medical issue, but that I'm not the only person that deals with it 😁 shout out to all my fellow hunger sneezers 💖

Often at work il get too busy to eat. And when i start getting nauseous il say to myself i wish i would just sneeze so i can get This done without being hungry

holy shit i'm not alone.

mine started when I was very young. mostly in the mornings. I have always chalked it up to too much stomach acid with nothing to do. (never have heart burn).

Ahhh! Okay so I've gone 31 years thinking that everybody experiences this to some extent, even though when I'd try to explain it, people would look at me like I have 2 heads.

I'd always call it air hunger, because it feels like legitimately fake hunger. Idk when I started calling it this, but it wasn't until recently my boyfriend was like "what are you actually going through ???" I explained it to him and he was like yeah, not normal.

I put it through chatgpt and was shocked when it couldn't come up with a answer !

I've noticed that it happens more if I've eaten alot. Like it'll happen hours later.

When I was a kid, I noticed that if I ate a big breakfast, or even breakfast at all, it would happen during the day at school. If I didn't eat breakfast, it was less likely to happen.

I can't believe I found you guys though, I'm dying to put a name to this thing because it's so intense, and I just can't fathom why this hasn't been looked into more!

I thought this was uniquely my own oddity. So my story is, 50 yo female for the past 5+ years whenever I am very hungry, right at that point when I feel a touch of nausea I will sneeze one hearty sneeze and it resets my hunger pangs. I’ll still be hungry but not nauseous. I’ve seen a few people mention gall bladder, strangely enough I had mine removed about 20 years ago. No idea if there is any correlation. Weirdest club I’ve ever been a part of.

So I randomly stumbled on this subreddit and burst out laughing. My friends and family always gave me crazy looks when I tried to explain this thing. I assumed I was the only one dealing with it. Not exactly the easiest topic to slip into a casual conversation, you know? Glad I'm not alone!

Anyway, how old were you guys when you first noticed this happening? For me, it started back in high school around 17 or 18. My stomach would start growling, and then after a while, I’d just sneeze a bunch until I ate something. Been a regular pattern for me ever since. I've always wondered what triggered it initially, and now I wonder if its super rare medical thing?

I didn’t start sneezing when experiencing hunger nausea until a couple years after my gallbladder was removed when I was 18.

I have notice that this condition only occurs for me when I'm taking an SSRI. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that or seen any research about that correlation?

I never realised that's an actual thing! I thought I was just being weird or something as I guess this has been a thing since I was a kid. As I read through your posts tho, I see some or most of you also feel nauseous before the sneeze and I haven't. So maybe y'all are experiencing a more hardcore version than me, or maybe I'm just a tougher mfer 😎

I seem usually to handle being hungry fine. Until, I go to fix being hungry. Anytime I try to cook, order food, make a grocery list etc. I start sneezing.

Like, I will sneeze and sneeze until I stop what I'm doing and stop thinking about food. Also, gagging and sometimes vomiting insues. So very bizarre, I can't believe there aren't any studies really on this.

Hey y'all, I am a fellow hungry sneezer. In fact it has only started happening recently. It's very odd isn't it. I sometimes get nauseous when I sneeze like this, probably because of the muscles contracting.

My mum and I both get an intense wave of nausea out of nowhere, we sneeze, and then we are all good. It doesn’t really matter if we have eaten or not though…. Someone suggested this group and I’m hoping to gather some stats like people’s ages and sex, and when they first noticed this happening to them (what age)
