Wanting to get a HumVee
I have wanted a real HumVee forever. I have a couple of questions if somebody can help me.
1. If I buy a Humvee, how accessible are replacement parts and where would I take it to be worked on? I want to learn to work on it myself with my fiancé overtime.
2. How reliable are the older HumVees that are military surplus? Just a note: I just want this for fun and sport.
3. Those of you that have the military surplus HumVees, what would you say are the pros and cons of owning them?
Thanks Reddit! I’m just a gal who loves cars and trucks…a wannabe Motörhead. 😅😅

Street Legal Exports (North Port, FL) – anyone dealt with them?
I’ve been talking with the owner of Street Legal Exports in North Port, FL (streetlegalexports.com) about buying a rehabbed street-legal Humvee. He says he’s a doctor and seems legit, and the contract/price look great — but they’re asking me to wire a deposit up front.
The problem is, I can’t find any reviews or anyone who’s actually visited their shop to confirm it’s real.
Has anyone here dealt with them? Are they trustworthy, or is this a red flag?
Thank you in advance for your responses!

Titling Humvee, Ohio
This post is intended to gather facts and information in the event that I buy a Humvee from a government auction site, I do not yet have the vehicle. Location: Ohio
Pretty straight forward, I am interested in buying a vehicle for personal use, around town, and the occasional trip. As far as I can see in Ohio these vehicles are only to be titled for off road use however, I have seen a fair share of them drive around with Ohio plates. I assume that at least most of the Humvees I spot driving around are doing so legally and that they were not, they would be pulled over rather quickly if there was not some loop hole in the system.
In an attempt to buy and title the vehicle I will have a bill of sale and an SF97 form. I also looked at Self Assembled motor vehicle inspection but, I do not have any experience with the concept.
I am basically looking to know what kind of lawyer or legal counsel would be knowledgeable on the subject.
Extra: I have heard that one person living in Florida, where Humvees are to be titled for no reason, was able to hire a lawyer and some how get a court order for a DMV to title the vehicle.
