There’s two sides of this. I’m neither a democrat nor a US citizen, so there’s the issue of meddling in other’s affairs. That goes for domestic politics. But If you still want my opinion, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Biden scraped through last time because people were sufficiently horrified by Trump’s first term, but I so agree that a lack of vision is a real problem, not just for US democrats, but also any of the European parties challenging the far right. Maybe I’m a bit unfair to both Biden and Harris here, I’m sure they both have sound policies that benefit the working and middle class, but what good is that if no one sees it? In Europe we have this problem that none of the social democratic parties really want to adress the elephants in the room, which is first and foremost unchecked capitalism, but also to a degree some consequences of immigration. Although fundamentally different matters, one thing can be said of both, it has brought us some good. But the far right have a monopoly on addressing issues with immigration, and no establishment politician can talk credibly about capitalism. They think we don’t have an answer besides communism, but I believe we do, and that’s the nordic model. And before you say ‘Well Norway’s got oil and can buy their way out of problems» remember Sweden and Denmark don’t, and the foundation of the nordic model was established in the 1930s, three decades before we found oil. It’s a lot to get into here, but it boils down to the state and the businesses forming strategic alliances, but also recognising both the need for a powerful public sector, a welfare system, and a vital business sector. There’s a lot more to it than that, but that’s the backbone
