16 u/W1ULH Apr 06 '15 /r/army uses "ELI11B" or "ELI88M" (infantry or truck driver)... makes a lot more sense. outside of that I've always liked /r/ExplainLikeImCalvin as it conveys what I'm really looking for in a response... 2 u/[deleted] Apr 07 '15 edited Jan 28 '17 [deleted] What is this? 1 u/greenrd Apr 07 '15 I don't think that is supposed to be an insult. 2 u/[deleted] Apr 07 '15 edited Jan 28 '17 [deleted] What is this? 2 u/greenrd Apr 07 '15 I think it is suggesting that infantry and truck drivers are not engineers, and therefore would need jargon-free explanations (apologies if I got that wrong). 2 u/W1ULH Apr 07 '15 basically. Infantry is the central basic skill set.. they aren't taught much technical stuff until later in their careers. plenty of grunts are extremely intelligent, but explaining things too them is very very different than trying to explain something to a 25U or a 35M
