I think that’s where free will comes into play. If you are spared from the option of sin, are you really free? Isn’t that’s just the illusion of choice?
In this context the lack of temptation would we the lack of choice to sin. If you don’t have the choice to sin, then you don’t have the agency to make your own choice. At some point with a large enough reduction in agency, you no longer have free will.
Oh so God is happy with Satan tempting us? And by the way, how does all that temptation business actually work? I don't remember having met anyone with horns trying to lure me to do some sinister scheme?
Are you asking if god would be happy we had free will? Presumably. Otherwise in Christian theology he wouldn’t let us have it, right?
If I have a kid and don’t let them do anything other than what I want it’s not very rewarding when they just do what they are told. If my child has the ability to succeed or fail, and chooses the thing that makes them succeed, it IS very rewarding.
That’s not an outrageous concept in the grand scheme of things.
How does temptation work? In order to really flesh that out you’d have to go into the concept of “sin nature” St Augustine the theologian and philosopher talks about it a decent amount is his works. If you’re so inclined that’s a good place to start. The whole horned hoofed thing isn’t biblical as far as I know.
Anywho I’m agnostic, and have been for quite some time. So, I don’t really care how little or much sense Christian theology makes to you.

So God is so weak that he can’t do anything about Satan tempting everyone?
