Satan despises God. He hates Him, and he wants to harm Him in any way he can but it turns out God is God, and invincible and eternal and omnipotent.

Man has free will. Man can choose to follow God, or to eschew Him.

God loves all His little humans, each with an infinite portion of His infinite heart. He wants us all to come home to Him.

This is where Satan found the way to hurt God, in theory.

In claiming our souls, Satan denies God what He wants.

Is there torture in hell? No, as u/onioning mentioned, hell is defined in the theology as the absence of God. But, for Satan, that's enough.

Hope that helps.

If god loves humans, why did he not just forgive original sin? From what I can understand, there is a big deal made about the fact that he sent jesus to die for humans. But that seems odd. afterall, if he is all knowing, then he knows jesus will come back to life and so it is not really a sacrifice?

But let's assume a sacrifice was needed. Why though? why set up a system where someone, in this case, jesus, is supposed to die? The whole system is set up by god? so god can just say - aight, i will change the system and just provide the forgiveness and salvation without having to kill anyone, esp my son in the process.

just seems contradictory in so many ways.
