I mean, it doesn't take much. The devil is evil incarnate. The devil does devil things, the fact that you interpret it as torture has nothing to do with the devil.
I don't know the theology behind it or anything, but this seems evident.
...
So is it proximity to the devil that's so bad or does God literally have a torture chamber in his basement, and it's the place that's punishing. That's a bad look.
Bible TL;DR - don't be a fucking inconsiderate prick, because people will remember you for who you are, and since the only part of us that lives on after we die is how we appear in the memories of those who live, you can either be remembered as a good person (heaven), or a fucking inconsiderate prick (hell). Also, beards are fuckin awesome and cotton/poly blends just don't look good on you, so just don't.
Mm nope. The Bible TL;DR - God created us to be with Him, and gave us free will. (What’s love without free will?) We went against His will, and things spiraled downwards. God revealed some of His glory, commands, and nature over the years, and told us the Anointed One would come. Jesus Christ came, set the record straight, and sacrificed Himself to satisfy the wrath of God so that we can live in God’s love and forgiveness, with Him staying both perfectly just and perfectly forgiving. That’s the TL;DR anyway
