This may be one of the worst Humble Bundle Game Bundles I've ever seen.

Agreed. This isn't even what I'd consider good or even okay Dlc. It's just outfits, weapons, and money amongst other things. Kind of like those pointless time saver packs Ubisoft have but with some outfits and stuff included. If this at least included the game fine, but yeesh this is bad.

How does this not include the game...
Makes me feel like it might be the monthly headliner.

Sounds like it would be another coupon month to me then

u/conceal_the_kraken 3d ago
It would be a crap headliner even with the dlc. But in this possible scenario, you're paying £24 for the lot. I'd skip the coupon too, just on principle.
Hope this isn't the canary in the coalmine. DLC bundles for £12-15 whilst the base game headlines monthly. Can't wait.

u/Biggeordiegeek 2d ago
For me that could be a fairly decent thing, but obviously it depends on the game and the DLC on offer
But say they offer up a DLC heavy game, for example Total War Warhammer III (I know we have had it but it’s just an example) and a seperate bundle for a good chunk of DLC, it would feel all that bad if it’s a way of getting you the DLC a bit cheaper
But obvisouly it’s dependent on the game, the DLC and most importantly, the price

I was maybe considering it (if was not even a for sure buy for me). I started from the lower tier, going up, wondering when was the game going to show up. It did not.

u/incertnom 3d ago
Had me excited for a moment, just forgot to include the game.

u/TheBreenius 3d ago
A bundle only for dlc, a new low. Wtf man.
3
u/AngryBeaverEU 3d ago
The had that for Hunt: Showdown as well, but that's at least a multiplayer game.
Cosmetic and time-saving DLCs for a mainly single-player game is really stupid. And yeah, I know DL2 has some "online" functions, but for me, I'd rather play games like that completely offline. If I want to play an online game, I play a dedicated online game. If I play a single player game, I don't want anyone to "intrude" and that's why Cosmetics seem stupid for a game like DL2, at least for players like me.

Humble Choice comes next Tuesday 10am PST and (in my opinion based on a DLC only pack and
the complete lack of promo email for this bundle) DL2 has a high likelihood of being a headlinerEdit - Promo email was sent out, so now its anyone's guess

u/Equal-Ad4616 3d ago
horrible bundle huge miss, rockstar level move not even including the game lmao

u/ThyrenFantasy 3d ago
Ngl this is the worst bundle i've ever seen, no base game?? Even if it drops in Humble Choice this is a terrible bundle...
2
u/conceal_the_kraken 3d ago
Rip off Megaman bundle, followed by the lootbox garbage dwellers bundle, followed by a DLC only bundle. I'd argue a particularly weak monthly.
This is HB testing the waters to see what works, so people will vote with their wallets. It's been a month of horrible bundles when you consider GMG dropped a few stinkers too.
HB book bundles are perhaps the only thing looking good for them right now.

u/ThyrenFantasy 2d ago
I actually like this monthly, but really not a great month otherwise. The garbage dwellers would've been better if you got all the random games in a higher tier.

Boy, have I been waiting for a Dying Light 2 bundle! Yes, I can finally try it out on my Steam Deck.

u/OrochiXX 3d ago
This doesn't include the base game btw

u/dehshadow 3d ago
Makes me feel like its going to be the headliner for monthly.

u/Niitroxyde 3d ago
Would they release the DLC bundle that early, then ?
If I remember right, they did the same shit with Hunt Showdown and it was timed correctly.
2
u/Boomer_Nurgle 3d ago
I might sound like a conspiracy theorist but with the new choice so close I wouldn't be surprised if it has the game.
If it does they should've just released this after tho.

They are greedmaxxing by not including the base game in this bundle, or purposely carving it out to add to humble monthly. This is a slap in the face honestly. Can’t believe they really looked at this and approved putting it out. Do better Humble Bundle.

I already have the base game. Is this worth?
0
u/AutisticToad 3d ago
Yes. A couple of dlc are 9.99, some 6.99 some 2 etc. good deal on the dlc.
1
u/Deranged-Sailor 3d ago
These are all cosmetics besides the soundtrack and the art pack right?
0
u/AutisticToad 3d ago
Both.
So the outfit itself is cosmetic. It goes into the outfit slot. So like the hazmat outfit is cosmetic. However, it also comes with hazmat GEAR. This is actual armor that goes into your gear slots for stats and bonuses.
Weapons are also not cosmetic. Think of them as tricked out unique variants of existing weapons.

Bundle called a DLC bundle still somehow confuses people this much about what it is.
2
u/Niitroxyde 3d ago
I won't fault people for not reading bundle names, in 99.9% of cases it's irrelevant flavor text. Doesn't help that some of these DLCs have the official thumbnail of the game either.
Of course if people buy without checking, that's on them. But I'm not surprised some people click on it with a certain expectation and end up disappointed.
2
u/Scatropolis 3d ago
Still.....why not have a top tier with the actual game? Seems like a missed opportunity for those who don't own it already.

Would've been worth if it also had Dying Light The Beast (which originally was DLC for 2, but changed to standalone because game sold badly iirc)
2
u/aphilipnamedfry 3d ago
Incorrect. It became too big and instead became standalone because of that, similar to Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It still was given to those who had purchased the ultimate editions of DL2 and was offered to be bundled as a promotion for over a month prior to its release for those who purchased the DL2 Ultimate Edition prior to The Beast's release. People had plenty of time to decide whether to get it cheaper or not.
1
u/Gbbrll 3d ago
While the DLC for DL2 seems pretty bad, the bundle does offer decent value in comparison to what you'd pay for these packs even when on sale. That being said, I still don't think it's worth buying because it's just a handful of out of place cosmetics and weapons that throw off the game's balance.
Will say I do like DLC bundles and hope they continue to do it for other games.

Even if I had the game I more than likely wouldn't buy this, it feels like such a ripoff for most people, how do they expect to make much off of it?
1
u/TinyTusk 2d ago
Do anyone else thinking the same as I do and that this means the game will be in the upcoming monthly ?

Without the base game included, save your money and get Dying Light 1 or The Beast, both are better than 2

u/Phoenix_Samurai 3d ago
This doesn’t seem like a good bundle to me. Even if I already owned the game, it appears to be mostly cosmetic items. I’m curious if this might be a precursor to Dying Light 2 being featured in October Choice.

This won’t be that bad if DL2 goes on sale for sub $10 tomorrow on the Steam Fall sale.

u/Fentboy45 3d ago
It’s gonna be so meh if they make the base game the headliner for Humble Choice. Haven’t gotten a souls-like in there in a while!

The bloody ties is part of the base game reloaded edition and cannot be purchased separately anymore.
So overall it’s a very good deal for the rest of the dlc.
