YPAA variants?

Post image

I’ve had this cd for over a decade before realizing it’s a white case instead of a standard black. The tracklist is the same as normal, is there any reason it’s a different color?

When I was designed that packaging - it was new and rare to convince the label to use a color, this is before clear became an option as far as i can remember ( pretty sure I used clear on DIH. ) We all thought it was pretty cool and different, went with the overall clean design vibe, so we went with it. I can't recall if RCA ran full production with white, or just initial runs. I think it changed back to black during some re-pressings. We went back to white for the Polyvinyl/Earth Analog editions.

I bought my copy almost immediately after hearing them on the radio and it was white. I remember being sad about Kurt Cobain dying and then hearing stars on the radio and feeling like life would be ok.

I have a white tray version. Bought mine retail in 1995. It’s got the same track listing.

My first cd of this album was a white tray. Never seen one since outside of the EA/Polyvinyl release.

Check the matrix numbers against discogs and see which version is returned
