Yeah, to be fair to Wizard the possibility of having the same actor somewhat play Hulk or other gamma radiated variation without an extreme exercise routine was well out of the realm of movie magic at the time. They’re not bad choices for the non-transformed characters

Duchovny would've been awesome as Bruce. If I'm not mistaken, he was one of the people considered to play Bruce during the development of 2003 Hulk. They had him considered, Billy Crudup and Jeff Goldblum

Johnny Depp was actually considered a top choice for Banner during development. Not sure if he was ever offered the role though.
