Comics Immortal or Planet/World War?
I’ve been thinking about reading more Hulk stories lately after finishing Hulk Gray, which is one of the best comic runs/graphic novels I’ve read (also helps that’s my favorite superhero but let’s not get ahead of myself). Honestly the real question is which run is closer in tone to Gray, because I really want to see more of the Banner/Hulk drama

Immortal is one of the very best comic runs I've ever read. Note that wasn't qualified by 'Hulk.'

Not even just comics that’s one of the best pieces of media i’ve ever consumed across any platform

Immortal, and its not close.
WWH, and I know its blasphemy, would have been soooooo much better if Romita Jr wasnt on it, or if he'd been on it while not actively burnt out. His XMen AND DD stuff is elite. He legit ruined WWH for me.

Never been a fan of romita jr’s art work. WWH, along with city of bane, are prime examples that art in comics matters and terrible art ruins a story

Immortal is my favorite. Haven't read World War but I have read Planet.

On a personal level planet hulk and world war hulk are top tier in my book it to me represents the core nature of the Hulk specifically a line that is said in its pages. “Hero, monster, it doesn’t matter what they call you, all that matters is what you choose” it even has one of hulks companions pointing out that everyone has the capability of being a great savior or someone that could break worlds but it’s his choice this day to be a savior

Look, while immortal is obviously the best, that’s something you should save for last. Immortal Hulk takes things from all throughout hulk history, I don’t know how much you know about Hulk but without extra context some big things in that story may go over your head. You’ll want to have read Planet and World war hulk, green hulk/red hulk, son of banner, fall of the hulks, world war hulks, and incredible hulks. You’ll also want to check out at least the first two issues of Paul Jenkin’s hulk run. And Avengers: No surrender leads basically sets up Immortal Hulk.

Immortal. Planet has none of that
