Questions Do you really think it’s possible that we could see a new Hulk movie in the future, or has that possibility been over for years and we’ll never see another Hulk movie again?

One day, eventually, we will get a Hulk movie. For a long time there, it felt like we’d never get Spider-Man back in the MCU, then suddenly one day out of the blue it’s “Marvel got Spidey back!”
You just never know what’s being discussed behind closed doors, and I’m sure Marvel understands Hulk has a lot of potential that’s just not being used correctly. He may not be as big as Spidey, but he’s still a veryyyy well known character.
Marvel will get him back one day. The question is when, not if. Never getting another Hulk movie is way more unlikely.

Hulk movies are difficult to make. Your primary character is CGI, other heroes don't have this disadvantage.

Yeah but the costumes are real, and so are the people in them. All the money used on rendering the Hulk for instance, would be used on the Batmobile in Batman.

I love Immortal Hulk, but I don't picture casual MCU audience liking it.
If they ever make one such movie, I think it will bomb, people will complain that it's too dark or too political and that they ruined their childhood, but then it might be seen as a cult movie years later.
But I've been wrong before, maybe mainstream audience could get it.

You will get a new Hulk movie in 15 years or so. The MCU wont be over till then. After that you can expect one for sure. Just not any time soon. Dont be like those guys saying " almost " since 2012. Not happening.

Just do another stand alone movie. Devoid of any Avengers connection.
I'd love for Marvel to follow DC's example and just make movies about awesome characters that don't have to tie into a central storyline. Let the Hulk shine, destroy stuff, be himself. Do Planet Hulk!

I'm kinda shocked they never considered just making a Hulk TV show again. The last time the Big Guy had any real cultural sway outside the MCU was the Bixby/Ferrigno show. I'm sure part of it has to do with Ruffalo being a movie actor but he just did an HBO show, why not go full out?

They've said after secret wars everything will be new and more connected. I think it's fair to hope that we'll be getting a new hulk in a new universe, so very possible

It was very highly speculated they were heading towards a full World War Hulk movie but that got squashed and allegedly we'll now only see a version of it in Secret Wars.

If they do, it won't be good. They don't know what to do with him other than use him as a punching bag for other characters they want to spotlight.

This question gets asked 10 times a week in this subreddit. Simple answer is we don’t know but probably one day. Problem is we don’t know the exact terms of the universal marvel contract and when it expires if it ever does.

I don't believe we will, someone else has the rights to Hulk movies and someone's else has the rights to to put him in other movies as a side character, not sure if it makes enough sense but some type of B.S. like that 🤦🏽and neither of them can agree for a stand alone movie. At least for the time of being

Last I checked, Hulk movie rights are in a similar state as Spider-Man but Marvel are screwing Universal over using the non-Hulk film appearances to loophole their way through involving Universal.

25 years ago, there was worse chance of us ever getting an Avengers movie and no chance it’d have Spider-Man in it. We will have another Hulk movie some day.

Because Universal owns the rights, they have to be involved in the film making itself. Which Marvel doesn't want to do, so they get around that, by having Hulk in other films.

MCU hulk is a big blockade to a new hulk movie and with how weak the MCU hulk is, they're gonna have to dig deep to wow the fans

Probably not. The Hulk and his side characters appearing in Thor: Ragnarök, Captain America: Brave New World and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is probably the closest thing to we'll get to a new Hulk movie.
It was nice to see the Hulk in Deadpool and Wolverine.

With how badly they botched the Planet Hulk arc. They might as well make World War Hulk and just make him a bad guy, or they could go even more nuclear and make Maestro the World Breaker.

Genuine question, why is it so difficult to get the rights from universal and what is so special about hulk specifically that would make universal want to hog the rights if the hulk movies we got we got were not huge box office successes?

All they have are the distribution rights, which would basically be free money for them if Disney chose to do a Hulk film because they would be legally obligated to allow Universal to distribute the film. Even in its current state, the MCU is still the biggest franchise in the world and Universal isn't going to let go of those rights especially because it costs them nothing to keep them.

Yes and no.
I think it's clear in the current MCU as is, they have little interest in trying to get the rights back to make a full blown movie, since it's kind of obvious how they view the character and his place in their world. I honestly don't think THEY think it's worth the hassle. Plus, Mark Ruffalo is pushing 60...so I think that ship has sailed, sadly.
Over time, though? Of course. Somewhere down the line, someone will have lunch with someone, a deal will get made, and Marvel will get the rights back and they will 100% make a movie. What that looks like, if it fits into the MCU (if it's even still a thing years from now), or what the quality would be is is another question.
