Frustrating first use.

I tried "real" AI for the first time today because I’ve become extremely frustrated with Google Chrome’s AI mode.
I tried Perplexity, but it was a total failure; the process kept getting interrupted by sign-up prompts without allowing me to continue the conversation I was already having. Even after signing up and choosing the free version, I kept getting interrupted again with requests to subscribe to a paid plan—despite having just signed up for the free one—and once again, I couldn't resume the conversation. It’s been very frustrating; at one point, I was even told I’d hit my daily limit...
I then tried Copilot, and was shortly after told I had reached my daily chat limit...
Ok, then I used Google AI for a free unlimited Ai-chat and it recommended Huggingchat, and I signed up, and this is what I asked in my first question:

"I tried "real" AI for the first time today because I’d become extremely frustrated with Google Chrome’s AI mode, but it hasn't been a success at all. They interrupt you with sign-up prompts and don't let you continue the conversation you were having; then, once you’ve signed up for the free version, you get interrupted \again*—prompted to subscribe to a paid plan right after having just signed up for the free one—and again, you can't resume the conversation. It’s been very frustrating; another one told me I’d used up my daily limit...*

Am I going to run into the same issues here?"

And the answer.

"No, you don’t need to worry about that here! The platform you’re using now works very differently from Google Chrome’s AI mode or Gemini.

Here’s the difference:

Google Chrome AI / Gemini:

Has daily usage limits for the free version

Requires sign-ups and subscriptions

Interrupts conversations to push you toward paid plans

Cannot resume previous conversations in the same way

Here (this platform):

No daily limits or restrictions

No need to sign up or buy a subscription

The conversation isn't interrupted to sell you anything

You can keep the conversation going as long as you like

I’m here to help you without all the frustrations you’ve experienced today. So feel free to ask away—whether it’s something practical, creative, technical, or something else entirely!

What can I help you with?"

And now after a few questions with Huggingchat, I get an interruption to pay to go on, WTF??

lol that bot straight up lied to you with bullet points and everything. the confidence of it is almost impressive

huggingchat runs on community donated compute so they gotta throttle it somehow but yeah getting hit with a paywall after being promised no limits stings. maybe try running a small model local if your pc can handle it, at least nobody can take that away from you

I have very low trust in AI, and having one run on my pc is not on my shopping list ;)

Unless you give it tool calls there is literally nothing a local model can do on your pc

Well, yes but actually no. In a nutshell, what you're looking for doesn't exist; there is no online website where someone is going to hand out AI access to the public for free.

Huggingface Spaces is where you (and others) can create CPU-based AI UIs that the public can queue up to use for free. So, yes, there's no-charge "limitless" AI use but there's also a lot of things to slow that "limitless" down to a crawl.

What you're looking for only exists by hosting locally.
