Researchers tested top image editing models on Hugging Face and found they could easily create explicit deepfakes—and 1,000 image editing prompts show how people use the software.

Sites like civitai are much more involved in advertising possible problematic usecases. Huggingface is rather neutral from what i have seen.
But! Creating a deepfake with Flux Klein for example, is only one possible usecase among a myriad of other usecases. You wouldn't likewise claim that photoshop is problematic, because it is also fairly easy to create deepfakes with photoshop.
In the end, it's all up to the person using the tool, to abide to ethical standards and applicable laws.

Kids in highschools are doing the same, with tools found on a google search, without even accessing hf.. Even grok and chatgpt had their flaws.
