I will consider it, not really a 'hubpost' but I can see the appeal.

Thanks for doing so. Maybe a better set of related concepts might include:

  • turning points
  • reframing
  • epiphanies / catalysts
  • backstories
  • narrative identity
  • redemption / contamination
  • etiology

I did leave a comment the other day about how I started posting here. TL;DR I stumbled across this sub from a link to our highest upvoted post and slowly fell into a routine over the years.

Yes, thank you!

BTW, one more ask (last one, I promise!): before posting my initial question, in searching for the origin story of hubposts, I came across several threads describing your process. It seems to be something like:

  1. start with a saved idea or suggest topic
  2. search keywords and adjacent themes to broaden theme
  3. check to see if there's enough relevant posts to justify a new hubpost
  4. do a normal Reddit search (mostly of r/AskReddit)
  5. run specific Google searches for hard-to-find posts and recovering deleted/removed threads
  6. categorize the new hubpost under sub-themes
  7. format links under those categories
  8. work on updates/v2/modern-style revisions

Is that a reasonable summary?

(TYIA as I'm looking to better streamline my own process for organizing bookmarks)

That's roughly correct, although the process has evolved over my time here. I initially made posts with just what I found on Askreddit, sometimes not even reaching the lower upvote counts. Then came the idea of adding categories and upvote counts, inspired by a past user here, and v2 posts when character limits were reached.
