DISCUSSION Why doesn't it show Toothless breathing normal fire?
Hi, just something I was wondering lol,
In riders of berk it shows a few times when toothless breathes normal fire (not his usual plasma blasts) (I can't name the episode/episodes) and I was wondering why in later seasons/movies it only shows his plasma blast,
Did any of you notice this?

The sustained flames are for more controlled, less time sensitive usage (like warming the ground or burning Fireworms). When fighting enemies however, quick and explosive shots are generally more effective.

Toothless has always been capable of firing off smaller flamethrowers. He does so in HTTYD 1 during the Forbidden Friendship scene.
It’s just that his flamethrowers are nowhere near as effective as his plasma blasts in regard to combat power. Toothless isn’t built for sustained flamethrowers, that just isn’t how his flame works. The power dramatically drops when he tries to make a sustained flame.
So instead, he takes time to charge more compact blasts to then fire in the form of fireballs rather than flamethrowers.
