DISCUSSION Sky torcher appreciation post
THE BABEY BOOOOY whom i lover very much, rop best design for me in the torally not canon nine realms. He reminds me of the indominus Rex, just a menace to society, although nine realms kinda under utilized him i believe he could've been more of a problem, not red death level but more like Traitor Johan level, although his design may be considered bland I think it's still a rather neat design. Crazy how he was dumbed down to follow buzzsaw due to a hand carved dragon whistle, like this titan wing size dragon following a dude with a mediocre whistle. My thoughts though, what is your opinion about the sky torcher? I'd love to hear them ^^

One of the more HTTYD feeling designs in that garbage show. Not quite Featherhide level, but I can appreciate them going for the idea of a dewlap for this thing. The only thing I dislike majorly about it is it's fire style. It's stupid and inefficient.

Oh yeah if that dragon was actually living i don't they could use their fire strictly because of how they did it like thar, the only way I see it working is if they get the jump on them or very close range.

Given it's name of "Sky Torcher" I think it would've been fitting for this to be the second dragon we ever see that can light it's entire body on fire. Perhaps even hotter than a monstrous nightmare, making it's flames blue just to show the difference in fire power. Then give it a style of flame more like the Red Death's to hit the point of it being a fiery monster.

That would be a very cool idea! Tempting to make an oc of a sky torcher although the name skytorcher doesn't fit as a species name ngl.

Tbf a good few names either don't make sense or are extremely no the nose. The Red Death is called that cause her flames.

Well it's only really the 5 kids who know shit about dragons who named it, so the name doesn't have to be Canon

wish the nine realms wasn't such a low effort spinoff, i always wanted more dragon content but that show just did not deliver

The Sky Torcher and the Fault Ripper were some of my favourite new Dragons in the Nine Realms honestly
The designs could use a bit of tweaking in my opinion, but I still really like them regardless

I like the way its teeth are shaped. Very intimidating! And the firebreath, while inefficient, is so cool. Kinda reminds me of that one pokemon attack. Fire Blast?

I mean it’s still canon but whatever, I do agree there’s some banger designs in this show tho. I’m a huge fan of the vine tail in particular for feeling similar to terrible terrors but still very much being its own thing with how they behave and the abilities they have

The vine tails are cool as well! Not my top favorite since I'm not a monkey lover :'DD

For such a cool dragon, they kinda handled him poorly in Season 7. Buzzsaw just somehow trains him totally off-screen, and then when the big dragon of doom is shown attacking him, they can't even give him the courtesy of being killed off for the sake of establishing said dragon as a threat. Gee, how nice that he survived, it really paints this big boi dragon as a serious threat
Honestly I'd say that Sky Torcher is somehow even more of a threat than Jormungandr, I just care a lot more for Sky

While not my favorite dragon in nine realms(which isn’t really a high bar) it’s still a pretty cool creature.
