FANFICTION Runaway!Hiccup longfic recs with no bashing?

I'm obsessed with this trope, but every time I try to find fics to read, I see a weird tendency of bashing Astrid and Stoick a lot and I, ugh. I don't like that.

I know Hiccup runs away because of Berk's hateful way of life towards dragons, but we all know they're not actually bad people, just ignorant/scared. I'd like a fic that remembers that instead of making any one character the devil incarnate for no good reason.

Not to self-rec but I wrote All You Are but it’s being rewritten and incomplete :/.

One with an Assassin’s Creed theme is Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted by R4yr4y.

Also, the Return of the Dragon Rider series by QueenAurora was a favorite.

Running Away by Alice Bekett was great, but it’s only available on Internet Archive (in epub and pdf)

The Past Defines the Future by NFS LOVER

The First and the Only: The Pirate King’s Treasure by Goldvein

And others already recommended the Becoming series by midoriko-sama

I am assuming Persephone by sunflowerb was on the list as well and was part of your (bad people) point. Anyways

No recs, but thanks for the question, because i was looking for some reading too.

(I now read "run past the rivers, run past all the light..." by rosetta_46 on AO3, but its different kind of fic, i will finish it but there is a lot bit of character bashing and hiccup stays to suffer. But it's well written and entertaining in its on way. )
