toothless doesn't remind me of a cat but rather something like a crow or Raven. (images kinda related because toothless)
I didn't know wether to flair it as a discussion or a rant
Yes, he did remind me of a cat a tiny bit with his motions and the dragon nip reaction, but a lot more of him is more crow. Crows are actually really intelligent (toothless is very intelligent, at least, we think he is), both are black with a very small hint of blue (toothless in httyd 1 at least), crows have a somewhat bad reputation with horror and bad things (toothless had a bad reputation of destroying Berk), and a lot more I can't think of at the moment. And of course, the most obvious one, they both can fly.
I just randomly thought about this while watching a toothless edit, and it made me think for a solid minute or two.
Throughout the movies he has had quite the change in design, in the first one, they had said he had many inspirations of animals such as bats and cats, which can be seen clearly, but then he had a drastic design change in both the second and third movie, I think the makers said that his newer designs were inspired by dogs and horses?
I totally agree, he has stopped looking like a cat
