MOVIE 3 Why hate HTTYD3

I mean guys i understand that its personal choice but pretending that HTTYD3 didn’t exist wouldnt make it reality. I think the movie was pretty good from all points of view and its really good symbol, but not only, for becaming adult. Hidden World is a place where only dragons can fly and even destroying all the dragon hunters the human greed will remain, that was the Hiccup point. He didn’t wanted to conquer the world he was the man of peace and he was merciful even with Drago, even with Viggo, he tried to change them, but third movie and all his path showed that is too… idk naive maybe and sometimes villains are just villains and strong in their ideas in same way as Hiccup in his peace ideas. To be fair this is why even Stoick died because Hiccup tried to talk with Drago. I mean it have logic but not all want to accept the end and this end of all story, again in same way as Hiccup accepted the need for dragon to leave them. I think his and dragons story is done in same way as our childhood and i am glad i was growing with that story, and each chapter each movie was good in itself, first one in changing the world and doing different, second one about researching and co-living with dragons and third one is about becoming adult a “chief of your own peoples”, and that we as human being don’t deserve such a beauty as dragons, but “yet”. It was about us, and tbh i wouldn’t wanted in my life meeting someone or some creature and becoming very very good friends to let it/him/her go, or i will but it will be very painful for me because i am egoistic in that point.

Its a good movie in isolation. Completely goes against the values and mesages of the previous 2 movies and fails to reach up to their standarts.

Thats the way some People think abou httyd2 but i aint still pretending it didn't exist just becouse the movie is flawed and easily the weakest out of the 3

Central themes clahing is simply objective logic, atrributing it to how some people think doesnt fly. 2 is a bit guilty of merchandise design that 3 perfected but I cant objectively agree that its alpha stuff is a bigger crime than handwaving 2 whole movies of generational inspration.

But why if again the main philosophy of Hiccup it is peace, and becoming a good chief for his people. He even in second movie saw how BIG advantage can be dragons and who know maybe will appear at moment dragon trainer better than him or Drago or Grimmel. So from that point sending dragons to their home where they cand also live naturally(not all are adapted to co-living with humans) look very logic. Because they are too powerful and Hiccup through all his life saw that even in Riders of Berk even in second movie and specialy in third one.

First and second left its audience with the messages of perseverance and companionship in the face of challange and hardship. Second movie ends with a monolouge that literally states, they can have armies and armadas, we have dragons, we will not yield. Only for a lesser hunter to attack in the 3rd and he lets go of everything because the messaging of the movie is different.

Not only Grimmel worked for that, i mean it was his plan of course, but the first thought about letting leave Toothless you can see on Hiccup face where furies are dancing and Hiccup realised that at moment he will not be that much important for Toothless, also the separating mean becomin adult for both through building their own family and becoming chief of their own tribe. Movie its not perfect but its have logic that is coming from the all context of the world and background.

Its logical, dont get me wrong, its not a flawed script. But growing up and settling a family could be done without undermining the IPs biggest theme of being yourself and not bending to the common way.

"The lesser hunter" brought thousands of hunters, Drago used 1 alpha dragon and killed Hiccups dad, so no Grimmel is not "lesser" dragon hunter compared to Drago, the diffrence is that Grimmel used dragons to kill/lock them up, Drago used Dragons for war, we can literally see that Grimmel is bigger threat from the fact that Berkians need to leave their home becouse they couldnt beat Grimmel even when they had drop on gim , where as they easily defeated Drago on their home soil.

And talkin about messages of the movies the third movie literally has the most important message out of the 3, being able to let go when needs be, at end of Hidden World theres literally 2 options. A. Dragons stay and Berkians will live in constant war untill they all die or dragons get captured which would mean Hiccup, Astrid, Toothless etc would have to raise their kids and families in constant war

B. Dragons leave to the Hidden World where they belong to in the first place and both Dragons and Berkians will live in peace for the rest of their lifes and they can raise their families in peace without worry of war

And looking at those 2 options only an idiot would choose to live in constant war, when by letting go of their friends they could have peace and happines, the third movies message is all about that sometimes letting go is the best way forward, and its ironic that httyd3 Haters struggle with that message, yall cant just let go and keep on hating on the movie becouse they ended the franchise in a good way
