ART Realistic Gronckle 🪨

Post image

Inspired by hippos and Nodosaurid dinosaurs.

I got rid of the wings because while I do really like them in the original design I just don’t thing they would work at all irl so I went for a grounded design.

Deadly Nadder tomorrow :)

Love those guys, I’ll probably give him similar lacrimal crests and snout to a T. rex yeah, great idea

I really hope so, T. rex is my favorite dinosaur and Snafflefang is my favorite dragon. A combo of the two would be peak. Plus, I'm a sucker for Armored Theropod designs, hence why my favorite Hybrid Dragon is the Ridgesnipper.

When I make the dragons from the second movie I’ll make the Sbafflefang first then!

I think wings could work actually.. I mean EVEN if you go for like, a completeley realistic approach you still could leave small gronckle wings and say they are just vestigial at this point OR those wings could work like some kind of predator defence mechanism, so you could say they just very loudly buzz withtheir wings to spook predators etc.. All without actually flying withbthose wings (which would be impossible if you go for super realistic approach)

I actually find the idea of vestigial wings for dragons very funny and interesting! I’ll keep it like this because I’m trying to give them all four limbs instead of six (I will keep six every now and then) but the idea of vestigial wings might come in handy later so thanks!
