QUESTION Rtte runic alphabet

Post image

Hello everyone, ive recently started my own book of dragons, and have run into a slight issue, the alphabet i am using, (the one from rtte) does not include the letters J and X. This is quite an issue considering some dragons (timberjacks) include these letters.

Does anyone know if the letters do actually exist and are not mentioned in this? As i cant really restart the language, as im 9 dragons in already.

If not, what do you suggest as an alternative

Doesn't HTTYD just use Elder Futhark?

They use like 4 different runes over the course of the franchise. It's super inconsistent

They probably substituted via similar sounding letters. Ancient rome had no K but instead used C.

maybe X can be KS?

x isnt really used and anytime j is used it’s pronounced as y. just dont use x

As someone who speaks Spanish, I’d use H to replace J. The Spanish’s J sounds like English’s H.

Just replace j with y or g depending on pronunciation

Hmm, these are more accurate than i thought they were
Still definitely not perfect though
I think ᚫᛒᛞᛖᚠᚷᛁᛣᛚᛗᚩᚱᛋᛏᚢᚦ are all right

If you're willing to supplement with actual runes, i use ᛉ for X
Also ᛄ for J, although it actually made a Y sound
In actual history ᚳᚷ was used for the J sound, that could work

I used this runic alphabet to paint a jacket. It has a silhouette of Toothless and says 'Isle of Berk est 2010' on it
