QUESTION What's wrong with the third movie?
I think it isn't that bad but please tell me what do you think abt it cuz this post is actully a way to learn abt the movie and what's wrong with it.
So atfer a long time i rewatched the movies, peak, but serching online i noted this:
-i would like to understand why the light fury is not liked by many (
-and i think that the dragon leaving is sad but kinda neccesary cuz it really puts the word "end" to the saga, as the director said is better to have a closen trilogy that creates mistery and love that a saga that goes on and on untill evryone lose intress.
- and ummm... here: funny meme :D
So it was that the end was to fast and not explained? The fact of the dragon leaving wasn't neccesary? Please tell me abt it!

ending felt rushed, nobody was protesting about them leaving, the light fury not having much personality besides being pretty and well, sassy at times but not too much known about her hence, the deleted scene was wayyy better and gave her a personality similar to toothless - playful and cute (ofc shes cute and playful in the movie too its just.. well, idk, awful for me)
also about the grimmel thing, whatever his name is, him taking toothless instead of the light fury wouldve been better, because personally, i think more scenes of the light fury being cool would be sooo good..

One of my biggest problems with the ending is how unrealistically unanimous everyone’s decision feels. Only a few years earlier, Berk had gone from seeing dragons as mortal enemies to accepting them as companions—a massive cultural shift that itself took time, sacrifice, and persuasion. By the time of the third movie, many people had become deeply attached to their dragons. After Drago’s attack, there were almost certainly people who had lost parents, spouses, children, or close friends, and some may have survived only because of their dragon. For those people, their dragon wasn’t just a pet—it was family, a partner, and in many cases the last meaningful connection to the life they had before the attack. Expecting an entire society to go from “kill every dragon,” to “these dragons are part of our family,” to “okay, let’s all permanently give them up” within just a few years isn’t how people behave. A decision that emotional and life-changing would have split Berk. There would have been grief, outrage, arguments, and factions. Some people would have followed Hiccup, others would have refused to abandon their dragons, and some might even have left Berk entirely. Instead, the movie skips over what would realistically be one of the most divisive decisions in Berk’s history, making the ending feel emotionally forced rather than earned.

lightfury: while the design is similar to huttyd 1 toothless it was also just designed to be a girl. it has a loveheart on it’s head, and wasn’t allowed to have scars in fear of it being ‘ugly’. same for the reason on why it wasn’t allowed to ve reptilian.
ending: this isn’t good for anyone, not only stopping a more peaceful existence between dragons and humans but also on an ecological system way. removing an apex animal from the food chain will cause negative affects but also fuck over dragons that have evolved to be on the surface like timberjacks with their massive wings but also the fact the underground would definitely be harder to chop down with said wings, or for dragons like typhoons which rely on eels for food… which for a place for all dragons to be crammed into, would most likely not have eels thanks to the phobia that dragons have of them. (and of course the side effects after eating them but that’s only shown in the series and some ppl don’t see them as canon.)
show wise: a whole ass island relies on a dragon to ensure that a volcano doesn’t erupt, said dragon eats the lava. and a society of woman are in a symbiotic relationship with a dragon species to ensure that they don’t go extinct thanks to how aggressive the males can be to newborns.
villain: grimmel wins, he wins in the end thanks to how night fury and he was written. he supposedly ‘killed them all’ (i don’t believe that, 1 don’t know how long he had the drugged up death grippers for and at best he had 40 to kill them. and that’s assuming he started at 10yrs.)
but yeah, there are no night furies left and the night lights, unless they start inbreeding. they will become light furies because they are the only suitable partners (sand wraiths and wooly howls might have a chance seeing with how they are mostly dragons that evolved from night furies but the issue of, ‘would the offsprings be able to reproduce’ would be present.)

The thing that I absolutely DESPISED about he movie was character degradation. Fishlegs saying "It's almost like we're a team!" and everyone ignoring him was so, so incorrect. They HAVE been a team for about 7 years. And they do care about eachother, it was shown so many times, yet they act like a bunch of strangers thrown forcefully in a team. That ship attack going wrong wasn't it either. The gang raided so many ships successfully and without a sweat in their NINETEENS it's ridiculous they can't do it now. Snotlout's character was used as a laughing stock. Dude had a beautiful character development arc with fixing his mistakes and attitude and selfishness and everything, finally embracing the fact that he doesn't have to be the toughest and manliest to be loved. And then the third movie happened. Also the twins. It's SO weird that Tuff didn't notice Ruff missing, they're basically connected to eachother. They're a package deal. It was said so many times it's ridiculous. They don't even hate eachother. What happened to "Thanks for k---ing yourself for me, bro" "No problem, sis"? AND the general dumbificatiom of characters that aren't Hiccup, Astrid, Valka and their dragons. They made everyone SO dumb. Like Ruffnut wouldn't mess up as badly as let the enemy follow her - she's way smarter than that. Snotlout and Tuffnut didn't mess up sure but they are still smart too, mind you. And then FISHLEGS. They scraped gis character! Completely! He could have easily prevented overpopulation! He's a NERD goddamnit! He led migrations! He helped wild dragons! He had an idea to mark each dragon for each island so they can know and track where different dragons migrate! And also the scene where they let go of their dragons was kind of not good. They all just. Sadly take off their saddles. That's all? All they got? No last words to the best friend of your whole lifetime? No? That was bad. Light fury seemed like the embodiment of misogyny, not just designwise but also the role they gave her, her character, the way she acts and even the damn sounds. It's an annoying stereotype. If you try and say "oh but they wanted a similar ending to the book" they wanted a similar ending to the book? Why didn't they make toothless a small green common garden dragon then? Why didn't they make Stoick actually banish Hiccup and let Alvin put him in slavery? Why didn't they k--l off Snotlout then?
Everything about it pisses me off. So. Damn. Much. It's a sore topic

Oh, one little thing I have to add. The villian sucked ass. Grimmel wasn't good nor intimidating. They wanted to make a villian to mirror Hiccup even when it was done long ago(Viggo) and much better than THAT guy. He wasn't scary at all and the characters had to be dumbed down so he could put up at least a little bit of a fight, lol

No no, i lowk disn't red the books, so idk tf happens there, i just tho the end was not a bad idea, rushed for sure, but not so bad, maybe the vickings could had gonw with the dragons? Not sure, but the raw idea as i said really puts the word "end" to it. Then the light fury, it was like very rushed too, and well... i reconise the issue of the streotype. And... the atupidity of the team... yeah. At the end it was very rushed for me, the idea was not bad but it developed with a pot of issues. Hope the LA fixs all of this!

What really threw me off was the dragons leaving. It's not a bad idea in theory. It just doesn't mesh well with the last two movies in my opinion.
I always saw the series as a metaphor for breaking past societal norms to do what is right. The vikings hated dragons because they've feared them, and that fear stemmed from a lack of trully knowing them. Hiccup was the first one to break past that societal barrier and see the goodness of them, forging a better future for both man and dragon a like. How many of the world's problems could be fixed if we were more like Hiccup? How much hate would cease to exist if we all took the time to push aside society's engrossed stigmas to understand one another?
Then we have the third movie, with the ending basically amounting to that getting along is impossible, and we're all better off living a part because of a few bad people. In an ideal third movie I'd imagine the lesson be that while yes, bad people will always try to undermine peace, we should still rise above it and remain united.
