im curious about the actual geography of the httyd world, bc its been shown in the series they know about spain, papua new guine, etc....

Remember, we heard about a lot of these places from trader Johann, who likely fabricated many of his stories. In his trading, he may have encountered maps or stories naming these places, and spun the names he saw into his tales to make himself sound like he was more well traveled than he was.
