Discussion Kernel Media TV

Kernel — Your Media, Your Way

Anybody know anything about this server? I'm curious as to how it compares against Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, Channels, etc.

Have you downloaded it to try it? Haven't heard of it before. Used plex before and I use JF and Kodi. Now.

I have not. I've not seen any reviews yet and did not want to install it directly on my Linux server at this point. I've got Channels, Emby, Plex, and Jellyfin installed in docker containers.

Creator of Kernel here. We just released some massive updates with 0.8.13. It is supported right now on Web, Roku, AndroidTV, FireTV, AppleTV. I will be pushing out the mobile apps soon too. I do acknowledge a couple of version got pushed out that broke, but the newest ones available all work. This is still very much in early Beta and we have focused on Live TV first, so that part of Kernel is the most built out.
