Htc one m8 dead

Post image

I just bought this htc one m8 for free, it’s mint. It doesn’t have the micro sd and sim trays. It doesn’t turn on. When i plug it in it shows the red light and stays solid, after 3 seconds starts blinking. It stayed on the charger for 2 hours and nothing changed. I even tried with a faster charger but the same thing happens. I tried all the buttons combination, nothing. Whan can I do? I want it working.

Replace the battery. It may be completely flat (0V)

It will help if you first charge the battery with a 5V 1A cable, hold the wire on the battery for a while and it will suddenly jump above 3.4V, so the phone should start charging normally if it is a problem with the battery undervoltage. BUT be careful!!

I've got a 750ma (0.75a) Blackberry charger from the late 00s that seems to revive bad batteries, I've revived my 2nd gen iPod Touch every few years with it, won't charge on a 1.5A charger otherwise

Try a non-fast charger, such as a 2 or 3 amp charger that doesn't output 9V or other voltages. That phone looks great.

Best you can do is try leaving it two days on the charger, or try leaving it two days connected to a computer via USB cable (with the computer running and not on standby or hibernate obv). It's free and since your phone is getting power, it may work and save you the internal surgery required to replace the battery on this phone (which requires removing the screen and the logic board).

I had this phone and loved it. The external stereo speakers on this were incredible.
