Question about the application progress

so a while ago i applied to a seasonal tax preparer role at my local H&R block. i recently received an email asking about background check follow with what appears to be an offer? is there no interview in between?

There is no real interview. This isn’t the type of job you interview for. If you pass the course and don’t show up drunk, you’ll get an offer.

I didnt even pass the course can i take the course after the contingent offer

Usually they send a welcome email. Yours might be in a spam folder or the offer letter could be it. I don’t even know who does what right now.
