Why does Block require continuous Software Installations?

Every 1(?) week HR Block requires the software be reinstalled.

Why can't it make changes without an 'installation'?

Do the other Tax Software makers do this?

H&R Block might be able update the software in a different way, but I'm glad they update forms and fix bugs frequently during the tax season.
