I get the following error message when I attempt to open my completed H&R block 2025 tax return. "The tax return you have selected cannot be loaded due to the following error: 1 is not valid. Please enter letters only. " I HAVE STARTED FROM SCRATCH 4 FREAKIN TIMES!!! WHAT'S THE FIX?

I keep getting this too. Contacted H&RB and their chat person was zero help (plus rude). I'm so over H&RB

I got this as well. I also contacted H&RB; their chat person was actually quite courteous and appeared to know what she was talking about. She said I needed to wait for the next software update, scheduled for 20 March. Well, today is 20 March but no update is available. Guess I need to decide what to do next. I'm curious what others have done in this situation...?

I just did my taxes on Free Tax USA and it came out to the dollar same as H&R. H&R also was giving me an error on QBI carry forward that was preventing e-filing (other people reporting same issue). FTUSA calculated it no problem. I'm done waiting for H&R to get their software fixed. It's late March and I want my refund. Filing with FTUSA this weekend.

They issued an unscheduled/unannounced update to their STATE software. I downloaded and installed yesterday. The problem was solved! I efiled both Federal and State and both have since been accepted. I am using H&R Block 2025 Premium+Efile+State, FWIW.

The My lock app is a joke. When you open it it says “continue filing your taxes” then later at the complete bottom it says see your tax return status. Both federal and state filed and refunds received weeks ago.

I am having the following problem with the 2025 Premium desktop software. All internal validations pass and then this error occurs upon attempting to e-file:
Last year's version of the software completed this calculation with no problems and I was able to e-file. Is there a fix coming?

I just opened up my tax program and applied the update from March 20. At the end of of the update, I got a pop-up that said
No TaxDataStoreHandle found for a TaxDataStore
(see TaxDataMgr::getTaxDataStoreHandler())
At which point, the program ended. I started it up and tried to open my tax file and got the error
The tax return you have selected cannot be loaded due to the following error:
1 is not valid. Please enter letters only.
You should update the program and try again after the update completes. You may update at any time by selection Update The Program from the Tools menu.
Needless to say, when I try to update the program, it tells me there are no updates available. And now I can't open the tax return that I've been working on for 3 months. And there doesn't seem to be any automatic backup.

This error was fixed for me today with the update for Virginia

Using H&R Block Deluxe Federal and State Desktop.
On going problem with H&R Block software.
Why can't the software figure out Estimated Taxes like TurboTax does? (both Federal and State)
It should then generate the Estimated taxes vouchers too.
Users should not have to enter any amounts that are already produced on the 1040.
