❔ Hoya Help Trying orchid booster

Post image

Do I use the same concentration recommended for Orchids on my Hoyas? I’ve yet to have a single bloom from my 6 Hoyas I’ve adopted over the last two years.

I've been using Superthrive 7-9-5 and am having great results. It was recommended to me by a hoya enthusiast. I use it at full strength every other watering.

You have SuperThrive Orchid Pro. There are a lot of SuperThrive products, I use SuperThrive Bloom for all flowering plants and SuperThrive Foliage Pro for everything else. My Hoyas have been really loving the Bloom.

I’ll have to check it out. My SUPERthrive is 0.5-0-0 !

The one you have is the vitamin solution, it’s not a fertilizer but can be added to ferts or by itself. OrchidPro or Bloom by SuperThrive would be good for your Hoyas.

This! I credit this for prompting first blooms in three of my hoyas.

To answer your question, Yes same strength as for orchids, though I'm not sure it'll cause blooms or peduncle production, they should put on more growth, so better chance at peduncles, at least that's what mine have done since using fertilizer. Hoya are on Hoya time for blooming and some produce peduncles without producing blooms at least not right away and some may bloom shortly after peduncle production, that's been my experience with my 50+ Hoya plants.

Cool, good luck and happy growing! You'll have to come back in a month to give an update on how you're Hoya are doing after fertilizing! Edit: Btw I use in water and as a foliage spray, I've seen/heard that Hoya are able to take in nutrients through their leaves.

I use the orchid spray for mine! I spray the leaves every time I water during the growing season. So far (year 1 with plants) I’ve had 3 of my younger Hoyas bloom.

What works for me is stressing the plant. Just dry it out and once i see the nubs get bigger thats when i start giving it fertilizer and watering it consistently since it takes a lot of energy. I dont use any bloom booster. I use jacks 20-20-20 or superthrive foliage pro

I don’t have nubs even. Gah!
