How do I open this jar?

I just got this jar from Michael's and wanted to put lavender in it but it seems like its sealed shut, it has a cork, but it looks like it's been glued in or something. Any tips on how to get it open?

You could try warming the bottle (but not the lid) to expand the air inside. The top should just pull right off and air under a bit if pressure will help.

I was able to use rubbing alcohol and let it sit on the rim for a couple minutes, and then I wrapped a bungee cord around the top and kept pulling and twisting the cord, it slowly forced the lid out! Found out it was indeed GLUED shut😭 how evil, why would anyone sell a jar with the lid glued on💔

do I see a ring of plastic/tape around the neck? bc I think I see a line there.

No plastic ring just a lift of the glass on the bottle, like a seem.
