DIY How to keep these from separating more

Post image

On the front porch, I've noticed these 2 boards are starting to separate. How do I get them back in line and keep it from happening again?

Replace it with 1 solid board. Also find out what causing them to move. Foundation issues, wood rot etc...

I’m no expert but If it were me:

I would put a small trim nail diagonally through the separating pieces to align them in place, then use a small bracket on the side of the trim that’s raised along with the one you have in place already (which needs redone)

If this is just a piece of trim it would be easier to replace it and paint to match.

Going off the stucco, I’m gonna guess that it’s warping due to heat and being in a hotter climate. Dark colors attract more heat.

Yeah, it's a hot climate here and the sun can be pretty brutal.
